Is it just me or has Foye been consistently disapointing. He refuses to be aggresive and this can be a problem seeing as his defense is average at best. I haven't heard anyone bring this up but is it time to start with Telfair and McCants and see if Foye can spark the team off the bench? I feel that he needs to show something to prove he is worth those two pics of him on the front of the Target Center.

I am actually a Foye fan but it is about time we see something from this guy, I am curious to hear what you guys have to say.

I actually agree 100%, but I decided I'd wait and see how he connects with the team after 25 games or so before concreting an opinion.

I think part of the problem is uncertainty of role. The team starts out saying he's a PG through and through, then all of a sudden decide he's going to split time at SG (Wittman's idea).

Problem is he sucks at SG everytime I see him there. The only good games I've seen of him is with the ball in his hands.

Foye isn't a shooter he's a scorer and he needs to put the ball on the floor in order to get it. He does need to step up and we need to see these "and 1" handles people were raving about him having when we drafted him.

I'm a little concerned. He just seems unsure out there. They need to let him just go out and ball. And quit playing around with this sometimes PG, sometimes SG thing. Just start him at PG, let him figure it out, or not, and go from there.

Judging by the numbers, Foye is a shooter. He shot 40%+ from three last year but was disappointing from 2.

I don't know yet if Foye is our man. This is an evaluating year, and that is one of the most important things we're going to find out. I hope he is, but like others I have my doubts.

Biggest problem seems to be conditioning. If you're going to be a scorer, you have to be quick and/or explosive, otherwise how exactly are you going to get to the rim? Foye can't crush people off the dribble. He came into the NBA a tad on the chubby side (by NBA standards) and needs to take care of that on the double.

With his jumper he could be brutal if he got lighter on his toes. The injury probably didn't help with that process, but the fact remains.

Otherwise work on his post game and learn to use his size inside the arc. Can't cut any corners if you want to be the best. You gotta sacrifice son.
But If he's comfy being a middle of the pack PG, then he should just stay the course.

I could see him fulfilling a Leandro Barbosa role rather nicely. Only problem there is then Telfair becomes our starting PG.

I think Miller and Brewer should start next to each other no matter what at the 2/3. McCants then comes off the bench. The main question is then who starts-- Foye or Telfair?

Foye gets utterly destroyed at the 2 imo. They just need to let kid run the point and see what happens. His D is fine vs the speedy PGs, but anyone with serious size seems to mangle him.

He played fantasticly closing out last year, I'd give the kid the green light and 30+mpg at the 1, while I think bassy is a talented PG, he's not my picture of an ideal PG. Especially alongside jefferson.

I say just put Foye at PG and just let him go. I agree with everybody saying that he always seems too uncertain all the time. Half the time he is just trying his best to distribute and the other he's trying to score. He just needs to find his game and roll with it.

i really hope randy can turn this PG thing around. he has all the tools to be a very good PG in the league. and btw, he's my candidate for MIP this year

Pre-season signs haven't been great, i'd like to see him play more as a pass-first point gaurd. If you look at his stats alone you'd think he was a full-time shooting gaurd.
The Foye vs Roy debate hasn't even been close SO FAR. I'm still hopeful Foye can become a very solid player though.

It was never going to be close. Roy was the guy then and he is now. Dont get me wrong I love me some Foye and i think im a little more optimistic about him then others, but i agree that it seems this "50-50 PG/SG" thing isnt where we want Foye at. His size gives him an advantage at the Point but he seems so out of place at the 2. I wish they would give up the Telfair-Foye backcourt.

It is only the preseason and maybe they're just tweaking lineups BUT... I see no future in playing Foye and Telfair together. Against a team with a small, quick backcourt (Nash/Barbosa, or Iverson/Carter) maybe, but they're too small and Telfair isn't really a pass-first guy.

Against the Bulls the other night the offense looked best when either A) going through Jefferson or B) initiated by Kevin Ollie. Foye never initiated the 'O' when he was on the floor... they ran him off screens like he was Reggie Miller or something. Don't get it.

On paper, Foye is the perfect point to play off Jefferson - he's clutch, he can shoot, he has plenty of defensive potential. WHY have they got him playing off Telfair? Can you tell I'm annoyed by this?

I think Foye is our answer at point guard, he could be an effective 3rd option on a championship squad, but the front office needs pair him with a play making wing like Joe Johnson.

He better be, Telfair isn't a starting PG and never will be with his poor shooting and poor defense he is a liability when he plays more then 10-20 minutes a night.

Foye is not a point guard, but that is fine. We do not want him to be a "point guard" we want him to be an attack guard. Someone that gets in the paint and either gets a shot, ft's or an open shot for a shooter. His job is to attack. Not to create. By his attacking he does create, but the focus is on attacking.

But if he wanna drop 15 assists in a game, I ain't gonna be mad at him lol.

lets not for got 8 for 8 from the free throw line. yeah he does a lot better when he is not sharing the court with telfair. They are mutually exclusive. I mean when you have Miller, McCants, Jefferson, Love, and Gomes (who has earned the starting SF spot...by kicking butt) he should average around 6 to 7 assists fairly easily (I want to see him take more than 3 shots in a game). 18 and 7 from Foye will make me feel all warm an fuzzy this season.
