C -- Johan Petro, Oklahoma City Thunder: He might not start, but he'll play a lot.
G -- Marcus Williams, Golden State Warriors: Or DeMarcus Nelson, doesn't matter.
G -- Sebastian Telfair, Minnesota Timberwolves: He isn't likely to ever do much.

If they're friends, Mark Madsen will be giving Telfair a hard time all week.

Thats a dumb topic, worst starters. But I totally agree with their choice for worst defensive player.

Its not even that really. FoxSports.com consistently proves time and time again that they have no knowledge of the sport of basketball. Whether it comes to Minnesota or big market teams, they are always the worst when it comes to articles and stuff like that. Im not even mad, i find it hilarious.
I hope Rev doesnt read the "Worst Rookie" part

Bassy could start if Foye goes down, but there are far worse possible starting gaurds than him if they're gonna count back-ups. Any player scraping onto a list could POSSIBLY start.

Any player that is a frequent d-leaguer or a late second round pick should be on the list instead.

define "that bad" and "already" - he's an NBA player for sure, but he's been the same player since he came into the league and is not ready to start
I look at him like Rafer Alston - great speed and ball handling skills, but probably won't be a reasonable starter until his late 20's because he's painfully slow at developing his game as he needs a reliable perimeter shot for going on 5 years now. You can't start an offensive and defensive liability, you have to give the team something positive. Rafer is still a weak finisher, but his outside shot is half-decent, he's learned to run an offense, keep the turnovers low, he's fast, and his defense is passable and he's reduced his fouling. To catch up to Alston - a borderline starting PG - Telfair needs to improve his 3 point shot by about 7 percentage points (huge gap) and reduce his fouling and shore up his defense.
He can do it, he's got the skills and there are some positives to his game like his respectable Assist to turnover ratio, but when he shows up every year to training camp with no noticeable on-court improvement, then it leaves little space for optimism.
And that's his whole thing, he's young, he came in as a high school kid, and he's supposed to have massive potential, but the reality is that he hasn't improved that much in 4 years. Stars don't spend the first 4 years of their career showing no improvement.
