The Sixers make a major move to try and get some pieces that fit better. All 4 guys coming in can shoot the ball, something that is badly needed on the team. With Brand and Iguodala being the only longterm contracts left on the team, this also gives them a shot at 2010 free agency.

Sacramento Kings Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players:
Jason Collins and Andre Miller

Outgoing Players:
Bobby Jackson and Brad Miller

The Kings move Brad to free up more time for their young bigs, and get a veteran PG in Andre Miller to help run their team. Collins gives them an emergency backup center.

I don't think we can afford to give up two shooters without getting at least one back.

This is also a terrible trade for Phil. I get it, Foye went to Villanova. But why would Philli trade two of their starters on a should be playoff team for two should be 6th men and salary filler?

This number is hard to quantify, so I tried to make a couple estimates with qualifying offers. I included the salary for McCants QO at $3.6, but that could be more, or another team could buy him out. Foye is far harder, and I didn't include his qualifying offer at all.

I originally was lukewarm to the deal, but I think I like it now. I see your point about the two shooters, but even though Willie Green isn't a good contract, we'd get some value out of him with Foye and McCants gone, and it'd give us a chance to find minutes for Carney. Bobby Jackson would probably be happy to be back, and Dalembert, while not a perfect fit, would still be a big help for Jefferson. I think I'd take on the money, since we keep our two youngest rookies on their rookie deals, and we have other cheap youth coming in next season with the protected picks. Eating that much money in 2010-11 is a lot to swallow though.

Tough call -- I can understand people going either way on this one.

I usually agree with you but I think your over thinking this one Shrinkwrap.

When we traded KG and started clearing out cap space for the 2010-11 season, I don't think burning a chunk of that room on Daly was what anyone had in mind.

We have a young team that is paying its dues. A marginal center who won't take this sucky team anywhere near the playoffs. The Wolves suck right now. They suck more than that giant vacuum cleaner from Spaceballs. Trading a promising pup like Foye for a couple of decent vets won't lessen their suckiness. It will only give us another one of McHale's sucker trades to lament. I just want to write the word 'suck' one more time in this paragraph.

Yea i damn near exploded with some of their comments last night.

And i agree that Foye is better than Telfair. Telfair is a great off-the-bench-change-of-pace guard but he isnt a starter.
