Always look on the bright side of life
Near perfect record (1-5) means a good draft pick (who said it had to be a perfect win record)
Lots of draft picks in the future
Could have fallen in the 2008 NBA Draft (meaning we wouldn't have Miller)
Mike Miller probably will want to stay
Cap space
Still young
Team on the rise
Still, we look at the sports page and Roy or Garnett stories followed by a comment about how they were drafted by Minnesota...we know, it's the same story every year.

Re: Always look on the bright side of life
This is my thinking. Im optimistic about this team. We are only a year and change removed from the KG trade, there is no way we should already be thinking playoffs at this point. This is only year 2 of the rebuild. Lets Build It...remember that guys?

Re: Always look on the bright side of life
Yeah, the biggest reason that I didn't like the Love/Mayo trade was because I thought that the addition of Miller and the more pro-ready Love would take us out of top pick consideration. But fortunately, or unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.
So thanks, Whitman! You may be destroying the present, but you're not destroying the future... much.

I have this strange feeling that Wittman will find a way to screw our future by killing the young players' confindence

Ticket prices are cheaper.
Target Center is desolate (thus you can move down a few rows to get a better view of the game).
Their new court is pretty sweet.
I’m on the fence with Miller. Not sure if we can put him in the positive-side.... quite yet.

Re: Always look on the bright side of life
Okay, i'll play this game:
Kevin Love isn't the bust I thought he was.
Al Jefferson could be an all-star this year.
Randy Foye has done well off the bench
Sebastian Telfair has looked solid

The turn-around in our financial structure has been phenomenally better, as well as our age and attitude. I would never have believed in about a one year time span, we could go from Blount, Davis, Mike James, Hassell, Hudson, Jaric, Buckner, Snyder, Ratliff, Walker to a team with all youth, and only one bad contract (Cardinal), in addition to four extra protected first round picks.

^ I wouldn't mind having Snyder on our roster this year though. I think he really could bring some energy into our game.

I think the opposite actually, someone mentioned a while ago and i agree that McHale set such high standards in the offseason that if we dont succeed, he could just easily dump Witt. When he will actually do it is another matter entirely.

Re: Always look on the bright side of life
I know this is only year 2 but I think our rebuild is faster than most teams. We got real young real fast. The thing that worries me is that we'll stay in "rebuild" mode for a long period of time. We really need more vets and less young guys. We do have a great group of young guys but whenever one does something bad there is another guy waiting to just step into his place. This kind of pressure can be good, but in our case I believe it is bad. When foye does something bad telfair is ready to get in there and take over. How is this effecting foye? He's playing with the fear in his mind of screwing up and getting benched. That's the thing with a young team. You can't bench a player because he does something wrong; you have to work through the kinks. I mean if a player is totally horrible he should obviously be benched but a player with real talent needs to work through his mistakes and be better off for it in the end. This team has oodles of potential, but that can also be a bad thing. I still have high hopes and will never give up on my beloved Timberwolves.

By rebuild, we should remove our current coach.

Re: Always look on the bright side of life
Al is still Al, and at times that's beautiful. Kevin Love has a BBIQ well beyond his years. McCants is still one of the best in the league at 1 on 5; really he's turning it into an art form. None of our guards have hurt their knees, yet. Marko Jaric isn't here.

we just need a shot of good luck
once we defy the odds and win the lottery next year and draft Chase Budinger, all this nastiness will have been long forgotten

3 of our losses were from 4 points or less. Still a loss but it's something to be considered
I wanted to wait to see if anyone would say it but I don't think it was on anyone's mind...Pekovic. We are 86 games away from KG, just need a little bit of patience. I think we should still be considered a team on the rise if we have a ton of draft picks and a ton of upcoming cap space.

I'll off myself if that happens.
