Carlesimo, Jordan,... Wittman?

Post#1 » by TheFranchise21 » Mon Nov 24, 2008 10:18 pm

Ok, after the last game, probably not anytime soon, but if we continue to struggle, will Wittman get the axe?

Glen Taylor said Wittman isn't going anywhere anytime soon so I'm gonna go ahead and say no. But, that probably depends on the extent of our struggles.

your title gave me false hope.

to be fair. wittman saw flaws and has made changes that seem to be working. he will keep his job if it continues.

Yes, simplifying the playbook for Foye and starting the big front line smell like real live coaching adjustments. I think the Wolves will play better with the current starting lineup, which will keep Witt off the hot seat for a time.

He's not the guy to lead the Wolves to the promised land - heck, I'm not even convinced he's a guy to develop the young talent they've got - but he'll be safe as long as Foye averages 15/6 and Jefferson isn't playing 30 mpg at the center spot.

Simplifying the playbook alone is not going to cut it the rest of the year. We need to still figure out how to defensively rebound and play team defense. Foye will have his off nights and so what do you do then?

We have higher defensive rankings then offensive right now.

I have to admit that if you asked me last week to put my money down on whether or not two other coaches would be fired before Wittman, I'd have confidently bet he'd be one of the first ones gone.
