McCants for Felton Rumors?

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=10784 The Charlotte Bobcats' quest for a center took a turn for the bizarre this afternoon, with word leaking out from several Internet sources that they were close to a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It seems the Los Angeles Clippers are insistent on seeing how the new front line combination of Chris Kaman, Marcus Camby, and Zach Randolph might pan out before considering moving one of them. Read that to mean the Clippers don't have a lot of confidence in Camby's ability to stay healthy.
What it means for the Bobcats is that they're going to have to find their center solution somewhere else, and the rumor of the day today has that solution lying in Minnesota. According to various reports, the Bobcats and Timberwolves are discussing a trade that would send Raymond Felton to the Wolves for - get this - Rashad McCants, Jason Collins, and a pick.
If there turns out to be any truth to this rumor, someone get Webster on the phone because we'll have to change the definition for the word "desperate." McCants, though a UNC product, has played himself right out of the rotation in Minnesota, and if you think Jason Collins is some kind of solution to Charlotte's center vacancy, think again. He makes Nazr Mohammed look like Hakeem Olajuwon on the offensive end.
On the flip side, of course, this would be a brilliant move for the Timberwolves. Felton would be a fantastic fit in their back court, where he would allow Sebastian Telfair to assume the more realistic role of backup point guard, and could help make up for the absence of Corey Brewer. In fact, Felton just might be the piece that makes Minnesota a playoff team. It's early, but the West certainly isn't panning out to be as competitive as it was last season.
Stay tuned to HOOPSWORLD for more on this potential trade.
OK, poopsworld should be smart enough to know that this trade doesn't even come close to salary matching. Maybe
McCants + Collins + Ollie for Felton + May + Dwayne Jones?
This would all be expirings, with a swap of RFA's. We'd be back to being without a center.

If this happens moving Foye to the two could make this current hot streak a regular occurance. I like to hope so

LeBron or Paul might be the piece that makes Minnesota a playoff team, Felton? Meh
still an upgrade to the overall talent tho, if this trade indeed works out
tonight's game makes me feel disgusting..........espeically when talking about the bobcats and their 500 audiences....

Im not sure if i want Foye to play the 2 exclusively. We're undersized as it is that would just make it worse

Please let this happen and move Foye to 2. When he is playing off the ball he is looking to score, which is good, and when he is in this attack mindset he also gets more assists. I'm a big fan of what Felton can bring to the table, especially since the cost is so low.

Are they serious? I haven't seen much Felton but I am damn sure he aint that good. Make us a playoff team? are you kidding me? Is Felton even a true point?

I'd like Felton, then just trade Telfair altogether. Ollie can clean up the rest of the minutes.
What's this "pick" stuff about though? Maybe a 2nd rounder.

Larry Brown said publicly he wanted to add Kevin Ollie if we released him, and probably still wants him to be a mentor to Augustine.
I agree though that Felton, Foye and Telfair is overkill at PG, so maybe trading Telfair in a seperate deal would work, and digging up Ahearn for spare minutes (where'd he end up, anyway?).

Then im ok as long as the pick isn't Miami's
Felton would be a nice addition he had 14 and 14 last night with only one TO
I would trade the Miami pick only if we got Gerald Wallace in the deal, if we got both it would be a raping of the Bobcats
Felton/Telfair
Foye/Miller
Wallace/Gomes
Love/Smith
Big Al
i think a really fun lineup to watch would be
Felton
Foye
Miller
Wallace
Love

and once we get Brewer back next season, and hopefully still make a decent draft pick to help at Center
Felton/Telfair
Foye/Miller
Wallace/Gomes/Brewer
Love/Smith
Jefferson/Draft Pick
thats a pretty solid team for the future
at least in my opinion

Without a doubt, we would need to sign some size. Grab Chris Richard at least.
Felton/FOye is a small backcourt, but they are both athletic. I would not push this trade, but I would be ok with it.

Its at least an Upgrade in talent
I was just thinking yesterday how if we did this trade we would be able to pick Richard back up

How about:
McCants/Collins/Ollie
for
Felton/Nazr
We eat some salary in Nazr but maybe he could fill the defensive C role that we desperately need. I still can't believe Brown would want anything to do with McCants but getting Ollie to mentor Augustin and getting an expiring Collins for Nazr would probably do it for CHA.

No way I take Nazr's contract. If we need a big body to throw out there that badly, we still have Booth.

Yeah I would like to see Foye play half his time at pg so that means Telfair would have to go. I think Ahearn is playing for the Spurs D League team.

I'm fine with Felton for McCants. I'm fine for anything of value for McCants. Yes, this team is undersized, and I expect them to be after a McCants trade as well. They'll probably be undersized for the next five years.

I would love to see Foye split his time at pg and sg. I think Foye is actually a very similar player to the guy we traded to get him (roy). Felton will allow him to move over. I realize its a small back court, but I think it maximizes Foyes role and abilities.
I like the Idea of getting back Dwayne Jones in the deal and also bringing back Richard. Telfair could be dealt maybe with Smith to get another big as well.
pg - felton (32), foye (16), Ollie
sg - foye (16), miller (16), carney (16)
sf - Gomes (28), miller (20)
pf - Love (24), Smith (24)
C - Jefferson (36), Love (6), Richard/Jones/Booth (6)
