McHale wants "Flow" in the offense

Per wiretap.

 You know what that means? Means he doesn't want to have to draw up or call any plays, man!

I suppose one wouldn't if it kind of outted him as a coach. Where did I read that piece that included a commentary from an ex player that said he though McHale was playing with an etch-a-sketch when drawing plays up?

I'm not sure he'll last the season.

actually, whenever McHale talks about his ideas for the team as far as coaching, I always think he makes a lot of sense.

I wonder what life would've been like if Randy Wittman had been our GM and McHale our coach....

My first thought was McHale was having urinary problems due to BPH.

I don't mind that he admires Jerry Sloan thats for sure.

If it wasn't for the free throw problem, which is not a coaching issue, we were in position to win that game. I saw a quote from McCants that said something to the effect of " I turned the ball over and looked over to the sidelines expecting to get yanked and McHale was clapping and said to get it next time. I felt much more relax". I am paraphrasing, but it shows that the players will respond much better to McHale than Wittman. These young guys need confidence not a threat of getting yanked after one mistake.

Only a couple errors come to mind.

1.) Ollie should not be shooting in the last 2 minutes.

2.) McCants should not be passing in. He should be a shooter, or screen setter, Not a in-bound pass.

Concur rev, didn't understand McCants throwing it in. Also, a thought I had is that McHale wanted a vet in there late in the game so since he didn't have Miller, he put in Ollie (purely a guess). I'd prefer him not be shooting though.

ROFL!!! Isn't one of those Flo-Max commercials with a bunch of old guys out on a boat going fishing?

I assumed that McHale didn't know the inbounds plays so he was using the old play where whoever gets the pass just kicks it straight back to McCants so he can take the shot. Didn't seem like they had enough time for that though.

And for the record, I also thought of BPH :)

The offense is certainly better, but if McCants does start hitting his WIDE-OPEN looks, it's tough to capitalize. He is struggling wo make any j-shot that comes his way. Love isn't far behind, but atleast he's rebounding. Miller would have made a huge impact tonight.

Defensively, we just don't have the personnel to cover guys like Melo. Brewer is the only guy we have that has the speed and length to get a hand up in is face.

I agree...seeing miller and brewer in this system would be great. we seem to fast break much more and that would help brew.

the ollie/bassy backcourt needs to stop. other than that it looks good.

We got to see Foye and Bassy back there. I hadn't been seeing enough of that for my liking. McCants messed up the end of the game no doubt. He kinda has superman syndrome at the end of the game. He will get better though I'm sure of it. Don't give up on him yet.

Also I was gonna say good job for talking about Brewer, lets not forget that he is a big part of our future.
