Re: End of first Quarter awards and shame
Good answers, although I think Foye is the biggest disappointment. I might also choose Devin Harris as the non-All-Star to add (I suppose he counts?).
Al, Craig and Love seem to be the only Timberwolves players worth a damn right now.

Good call. That might turn things around for this team.

Re: End of first Quarter awards and shame
MVP - Al Jefferson pretty easily on this one
MIP - Kevin Love - not that its saying a lot because his shooting is lower then I want it to be but his rebounding has been amazing, and he hustles on defense
MIA - Rashad McCants - I didn't expect him to improve other areas of his game, but for him to lose his scoring ability doesn't make sense to me. Very disappointing.

MVP - Al Jefferson (who else?)
MIP - Randy Foye - (of the few who actually improved statistically, he did the most)
MIA - basically the whole team but I guess I'll have to go with McCants (Miller would be #2)
Non-Allstar to add - Deron Williams
Most likely to be traded - McCants (Telfair a close #2)

how come you guys have Gomes and Foye in your MIP lines?

Only if we can add in Miami and Utah's first round picks for Joe Smith. We gotta have Joe Smith if we're going to completely screw our own team over. It's Wolves-law.

Only for lack of a better option. Nobody has really improved this year, which is the most irritating thing with this team. Foye's points and assists are up from last year, though, so he wins by default. I guess an argument could be made for Smith...

Re: End of first Quarter awards and shame
MVP - Jefferson (the only one other teams desgin a defensive plan against really)
MIP - Brewer (pre injury was looking solid on both sides); Smith (point PF anyone?); Ollie (expected nothing from him, he plays too much, but he isn't horrible out there) Love (I had low expectations and didn't want him on team since he Still is another PF)
MIA - Foye (bad start), Miller (please shoot), Brewer (why did you have to get hurt?), Jefferson (yes him too, are you contractually obligated to throw up bad shots when you don't have position or a good look? kick it out, we brought in shooters to help on your double/triple teams!), Collins (thought you were a decent back up center), but Mainly McCants (contracts year, no D still, bad shot selection, lack of team concept, so nothing new and nothing improved)
Non Allstar - Bynum (big young 7ft athletic center, he is the best non-allstar at the right age, though any that could fill the 5 properly would be my choice)
More contribution - Love (as minutes increase, stamina improves, continues to adjust)
Traded - Smith or Gomes (too many PF's not enough minutes), McCants (if we can con someone into taking him, errrr, giving him a change of scenary to ressurect his game)

Re: End of first Quarter awards and shame
MVP - Al Jefferson of course
MIP - Corey Brewer before the injury, he was startin to ball.
MIA (biggest disappointment) - Rashad McCants but solely because his percentages are so bad. I expected him to jack shots, but wow, 20% from three?
if you could add any non-all star who? - Deron Williams
who do you expect to contribute more as the season continues? - Kevin Love
most likely to be traded? - Rashad McCants or Sebastian Telfair possibly. He seems to have gotten a little lost in the shuffle.

question...what do you suppose either Telair or McCants value is? would asking for a second round pick be out of the question?

I picked Gomes because his defense is better than last year. No one else seemed to improve except Bassy and Brewers jumpshot. A couple weeks ago I would have said that the most irritating player would be Telfair or Jefferson (not passing out of double teams). But now Telfair hardly plays and Jefferson is passing better so I guess Smith, for getting minutes, is the most irritating player.

Re: End of first Quarter awards and shame
Craig Smith? He's been the only one on the team I've been satisfied with.
PS, its 3 day's past the 15th and no trades
I'm kinda disappointed. I'm sitting here waiting patiently for Felton and Wallace and they still haven't shown up.

And that doesn't irritate you? The only thing he is good at (scoring in the paint) is the same thing Jefferson is dominant at. Smith and Jefferson just don't work together. It didn't work last year, doesn't work this year, and won't work next year. If the team isn't going to win I would rather see Love miss twenty shots than see Smith make ten. Love/Jefferson could be something special. Smith/anyone less than 7 feet tall is a bad frontcourt.

Now Felton is supposed to be going to the Warriors.
