Anthony Randolph available

The Wolves certainly have minutes available behind Miller and Gomes. Would Telfair and the Utah 1st be enough to get him?

Telfair for Randolph doesn't work in the checker, but I was playing around with it and got this:
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=4881110ATL GETS: Sebastion Telfair + (1st ??)
GSW GETS: Ryan Gomes + (1st ??)
MIN GETS: Anthony Randolph + Acie Law + Marcus Williams
Minnesota gets younger, bigger, and more athletic.
The Warriors replace two guys that Nellie hates with a guy I think he would love (a tweener that shoots the 3 ball and plays bad defense.)
Atlanta replaces a combo guard with a pure point to back up Bibby.
I don't know the relative value for the guys we are getting back, so we might have to add some late firsts.

I was huge on randolph pre draft. my question now would be why gsw would give up on him so fast?
I would honestly give the mia pick in a package to get him. kid has great talent.

Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Anthony Randolph, Marcus Williams, Marco Belinelli
Outgoing Players: Ryan Gomes, Rodney Carney
Golden State Warriors
Incoming Players: Ryan Gomes, Rodney Carney
Outgoing Players: Anthony Randolph, Marcus Williams, Marco Belinelli
Add picks as you see fit? Works in trade checker. GSW fans are hot and cold on belinelli, no clue about his value to the team. M. Williams has no value and could be of some use to us. Randolph is still a project but has huge upside, certainly worth more than the MIA pick. But imo Gomes + MIA pick is close just depends how highly the warriors view belinelli and williams. Invloving a 3rd team could fill some of their needs. NJ for a big?

I might have mentioned this elsewhere in this forum, but it might have been elsewhere.
The kid's a rookie, and he and his agent are demanding playing time. The coach says that if he wants playing time, he has to show work ethic in practice, and he needs to talk to HIS AGENT about it. His team is discussing trades after only 25 games in the league.
This sets off warning bells with me that this is a lazy, selfish kid that .. no matter what physical skills he has .. is an extremely dangerous player to put any trade value into. Think he'll help our locker room?

Yeah Nellie went crazy like he always does. Brandan Wright isnt getting PT. Randolph, Belinelli, Williams, none of the young kids are getting any burn. He would rather play an all SG/SF lineup than give some kids who dont fit his system well PT. I would take Randolph in a sec if all it took was Gomes or McCants and a 1st.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.c ... 14RDHQ.DTLNelson's announcement came on a day ESPN reported that he had confronted 19-year-old rookie Anthony Randolph and told him, "You should start having your agent look into trades because this isn't working out."
After the game, Nelson admitted to speaking with Randolph about his agent, but not to suggest Randolph ought to relocate. Rather, to work on things to improve his game.
"I do want to talk to his agent. I did say his agent, and I need to sit down and talk. (Randolph's) got to make adjustments," said Nelson, calling the report untrue. "I talked to (Randolph) about sitting down with his agent because he's got to work at practice, do some things to get better."
Even if its true Warriors wont trade a young big with huge potential just for nellie whose gonna get fired soon if he continues to tank on purpose just to retire early with that 2 year 16 million extension. He's already giving control over defensive responsibilities to his assistant coaches so it's not too long before nellies gone for good

He seems too similar to Corey Brewer, a bit more height, but he makes Manute Bol look like a tank.

IIm intrigued. Im guessing this is all fluff though. Id do it if we can get literal cents on the dollar. Im not sure its worth giving up "major" assets just yet. Id rather trade the hell out of our picks in the future for some proven talent. Draft Day '09 is going to be fun.

I think a SF w/ some interior defense potential is the ideal Wolves SF if they're gonna play Love/Jefferson. Especially if Love can develop his perimeter game , Randolph would be awesome, but the Wolves would have to pay a big price. I think I'd have anything except Love/Jefferson/MN 1st/cap relief for Maggette's contract on the table. But I'd definitely be willing to use the other 1sts, Mike Miller, Foye, etc, to try and work something else. I might be willing to take back Stephen Jackson too

Nellie has been yanking the youngsters around quite a bit (look at Wright). IIRC he did the same with Devin Harris in Dallas. If you're not a young guy who is a (nearly) finished product he has no patience and doesn't want to play you.
He's not "the next Magic", but he has a very broad and unique skillset for his size. I like him alot and like him even more as a fit with this roster.
I can't even begin to venture a guess at what GS is asking for or will get. They are trading away a late lotto pick not even halfway through his rookie season with little PT, AFTER it goes public that they want to trade him.
