Wolves - Sixers

Post#1 » by the_bruce » Tue Dec 23, 2008 8:30 am

I remember a bunch of you were in Love with Iggy around draft time, and there were spatterings of Pick for Iggy discussions. I'm personally not a huge fan of Iggy, but w\e. So the point of this thread is because apparently Sixers have some trouble spreading the floor w\ Brand. Iggy doesn't have room to operate, I think the solution is Mike Miller or Michael Redd to be honest. The first one is simple...

Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Andre Iguodala, Willie Green, Kareem Rush
Outgoing Players: Kevin Love, Mike Miller

Philadelphia 76ers
Incoming Players: Kevin Love, Mike Miller
Outgoing Players: Andre Iguodala, Willie Green, Kareem Rush

Overall pretty simple. Makes this end up being #3 for Iggy. I was never onboard for swapping a pick in the top 3 for him but, what ya think now? I wouldn't be for this now myself....

The next one is a bit more complex...
Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Steven Hunter, Andre Iguodala, Willie Green, Sonny Weems, Chucky Atkins, Kareem Rush,
Outgoing Players: Jason Collins, Mike Miller, Mark Madsen, MIA 1st

Philadelphia 76ers
Incoming Players: Mike Miller, Mark Madsen, Mia + Den 1st
Outgoing Players: Andre Iguodala, Willie Green, Kareem Rush

Denver Nuggets
Incoming Players: Jason Collins
Outgoing Players: Steven Hunter, Sonny Weems, Chucky Atkins, Lotto Protected 1st

MN:
Sends out some additional assets for a young 2/3 locked into a longterm deal. Theres of course a few problems here. Willie Green has a 3 year deal, but he's at least useful on the boards and D. MN Also ends up spending 6m next year on hunter + atkins, instead of just letting Collins expire. The wolves would also nee dto buy out Weems and Rush which will be another mil or so. So it costs 1-2m more this year, and 7-10m more next year(I dont think atkins has a full guarenteed). So somewhere between 8-12m plus the MIA pick is the total cost. Could swap in cardinal for Collins to even some of this out.

Philly:
They spread the floor with Miller. They probably want\need more though.

Den:
I think this deal gets the Nuggets under the lux, but I'm to lazy to verify. Anyway, the Billups for Iverson deal, coupled with the McDyes buyout, make cutting 1 mil off salary the number to get them outta the lux. Which gets them a share of the lux pool! Plus cuts a year off hunter + Atkins. This should cut 1.2m off their payroll. No clue who Weems is.

My biggest gripe about Iggy is his inability to shoot. If we already had a lights out shooter (like Miller) here than bringing in Iggy would be no prob for me. I love his game, just not sure he fits here.

if McCants and/or Foye would somehow find their outside shot back I might consider this trade but otherwise Jefferson would have even more trouble with double and triple teams inside.

maybe we should reconsider this on at the deadline when or better if Foye/McCants found their shot back

I would give up Miller and the Exp and some of the picks, but not Love. Not that it matters, because Philly would not want Love right now anyway. Give them Miller+exp+some picks and they might bite.

I would rather have Marvin then Iggy, but I would be cool with Iggy.
