Trade 1

Lakers
In- Mike Miller, Craig Smith, Kevin Ollie
Out- Trevor Ariza, Sun Yue, Vladimir Radmanovic

Fisher/Farmar/Ollie
Kobe/Vujacic
Miller/Walton/Powell
Gasol/Odom/Mbenga
Bynum/Smith/Mihm

Miller would be a good fit for the Lakers, as mentioned in that other thread. However, I would rather see talent (that can be resigned) than cap space come back.

Wolves
In- Trevor Ariza, Sun Yue, Vladimir Radmanovic
Out- Mike Miller, Craig Smith, Kevin Ollie

Trade 2

Nets
In- Ryan Gomes, Calvin Booth, Miami 09 first
Out- Yi Jianlian, Maurice Ager

Harris/Dooling
Carter/Hayes/CDR
Gomes/Simmons/Najera
Anderson/Swift/Williams
Lopez/Boone/Booth

The Nets seem to need a good sf and they also need a better third option for Harris and Carter. Gomes would be perfect for them.

Wolves
In- Yi Jianlian, Maurice Ager
Out- Ryan Gomes, Calvin Booth, Miami 09 first

Foye/Sun/Telfair
(Harden/Brewer)McCants/Carney -- Brewer
Ariza/Radmanovic/Ager
Yi/Cardinal/Madsen
Jefferson/Love/Collins

The Wolves would continue to suck but they would have a lot more fans because of Yi/Sun. With their pick Harden would probably fit best. Foye/Harden/Ariza/Yi/Jefferson would be a nice starting line up to go into next season with. And yeah VladRad has a terrible contract but his shooting would fit great with the rest of the bench (Love/Brewer/Sun).

I guess if Glen Taylor's life was being threatened and blackmailed to accept these trades by a group of dangerous Chinese Triads...

I could definitely see the Lakers wanting Miller, but Vlad's bad deal makes #1 a no-go for me. I like Ariza, but I don't think he has Mike Miller ability. Generally, Miller-to-Lakers deals include Odom, but since Odom can actually play, they can't compensate us enough for a guy who will most certainly leave. After Bynum, I don't think the Lakers have much young talent that's interesting ... it all went for Gasol.

I'd have to see more of Yi to comment on the second one, but the fact that he was already traded makes my spider sense tingle. Didn't I read somewhere that he isn't as young as China said he was?

I understand turning down the 1st deal because of Vlads contract but I don't agree that the Lakers don't have enough young talent. What if Farmar, Ariza, and Sun Yue were coming back in a trade for Miller? That seems like too much for Miller. Maybe I am just overrating Ariza.

If we really wanted Ariza, my thinking is that we could take a run at him this summer. I can't imagine he'll get more than the MLE.

Agree. I think Ariza is a good player, but looks better playing on a team like the Lakers. We don't get anything that really interests me to make this trade.

The Lakers are going to keep Ariza as Odoms replacement?
