Rashad McCants Value?

Post#1 » by Mascot » Sun Jan 4, 2009 11:49 pm

just wondering how much the guy is valued over here?
I see hes shooting pretty bad this season and has only started 2 games, so are you still high on him or would u trade him for some of Toronto's Scrubs?

I'd trade him for a bunch of plane tickets to Minneapolis

He still has the potential to be a potent scorer off the bench but he's basically worn out his welcome here. He's one of those guys that can explode in a diferent setting if he ever gets it. He has value as an expiring if nothing else.

That would imply that at some point I was high on him. I've hated him ever since we drafted him.

Nope, I'd rather let him expire.

Being as Humphries is a PF if I remember right I'd say no. We tend to have an influx of those so prolly not. oh and to answer the question Mccants has pretty much zero value.

Shad has no value, but the Wolves don't need another PF to ride pine. I agree with above, better just to led Shaddy expire.

The Wolves don't need the non-fitting Humphries, particularly with 3 years on his deal.

As C. lupus said, his minimum value is as an expiring. However, he can certainly score as offense off the bench, and he carries no long-term risk, since a team can be out of his contract immediately, so he has slightly positive value.

I was surprised to see him get ZERO minutes last night, and makes me hopeful some a trade might be in the works, and MIN is benching him to make sure he doesn't get hurt. I haven't heard a whisper about a trade though.

Getting Jawai in a deal for McCants sounds great to me.

Honestly. Hassan Adams might be enough. I think of a Shad trade as addition by subtraction. As long as the contracts ends, and it's not someone that will tempt McHale to play Love less, I think I'm O.K. with it.

I think its fair, but this season is shot, so all we really get out of Rasho is a couple more unnecessary wins, and I suppose a chance to audition him if we were seriously going to go after him in free agency, though he's on no one's list here.

I'm not saying McCants is worth a ton, but he's a no-risk chance for some team at some scoring, and he's a positive value expiring. I wouldn't be angry if this deal happened, but our goal is 2009 and forward, so I would look for something, even something minor, that helps in the future. Maybe the rights to swap a future protected pick? Maybe some euro prospect? Have MNWI look through Stanko Barac, Andrew Betts, and Erazem Lorbek?

EDIT: I think you guys are at your 15-man roster limit right now anyway, so you'd have to dump somebody .. I'm guessing that would be Josh McRoberts? Or do you keep him because he's a hometown boy? McRoberts doesn't fit here, but if any other team is interested, maybe swap that prospect for some prospect we could use, at center or PG? Or how about McCants + Collins + Madsen (2 yr) for Rasho + Baston?

Might as well just let McCants and Collins expire.

Or combine them with a late draft pick for a legit big like haywood.
