The Timberwolves were also featured on Curb Your Enthusiasm for a few brief moments. They were playing against the Lakers in the episode where Larry accidentally trips Shaq (and they later play Scattergories in the hospital).

Nice TWolves find. The Wire was one of the best shows I've ever seen on TV, and I spent way too many nights staying up until 3-4 AM absorbing all the episodes when my Netflix discs arrived in the mail. Enjoy.

Ha that was a good episode. I don't remember them playing scattergories tho, just watching Shaqs favorite Seinfeld episode "the contest". But it has been awhile since I saw that one.

We're almost through with season 4, and I can't wait until they rip apart the media in season 5. There was already a good shot at the selfishness and submissiveness of the media late in season 3, so I can't wait. The quality of the show stands for itself, but is made more prominent with the absolute **** that is on t.v. now.

Yea I'm in season 4 as well, the early portion. This is madness. I really do love this show, I am on a streak with seeing great shows that have been finished already.

Me too!. I'm finding this is the best use of my Netflix subscription, being able to absorb multiple episodes of well-written shows over a smaller time frame, since it allows you to see story arcs better.

FAVORITES:
The Wire
Dexter
Deadwood
Firefly

WELL WORTH IT:
Big Love
Rescue Me
Buffy the Vampire/Angel (great tongue in cheek humor)
The Shield
BattleStar Galactica
Veronica Mars (I'm watching them now .. first season is excellent)
CSI
Jericho

OK, BUT:
Bones
Six Feet Under
Boomtown
Nip/Tuck

RECOMMENDATIONS?

I have "Madmen" coming up in my queue, and I'm curious what people think of "Oz." I have "Curb Your Enthusiasm" a little farther down, as well as "Entourage." What else would you guys recommend?

I really liked Dead Like Me, good dark humor.

I'm in the middle of Weeds and I'm liking it a lot so far. Kevin Neilan's character is worth the price of admission alone.

I have to take some time to watch The Wire, The Shield, and Rescue Me as I've heard nothing but great stuff. I also have to look at some of the other stuff on your list. Deadwood was fantastic. I also thought Rome was one of the best things I've ever watched and would recommend that. Flight of the Conchords is great. I also liked the first season of Californication, haven't finished the 2nd season yet so don't know if it's a one-season wonder or not. I watched the first few episodes of Madmen, but didn't get into it.

I saw Firefly last year. Shrink that is indeed a fantastic show. I bought the series and own the special edition of the movie now.

I'm with y'all on The Wire--some of the best writing and acting I've ever seen. The fact that it was only nominated for 2 Emmys in 5 years and never won one is just stupid.

If you want another cool (and canceled-too-soon) HBO show, Netflix Carnivale

I've been trying to decide on which show to watch now that I just finished Arrested Development. I guess I'll be going with The Wire.
