MIN-LAC Pick Discussion

I was thinking about all these picks we're acquiring in 2009, probably 3 or 4 -- maybe more with a decent trade -- and considering the roster problems they might create.

What do you guys think of trading a couple late picks for 2009 to reacquire our future, Top 10 protected pick from LAC?

With the protections (Top 10 protected until 2012), that pick is still not especially valuable to LAC, and they may want to cash the talent in it next season. I'd even consider trading the MIA pick on draft night if we don't see someone we like when that pick comes up. Otherwise, something like a BOS (29) + ??? (20-25) for the MIN pick?

Thoughts?

I'd get behind something like that for Minnesota... Especially since if Minny keeps up their play they could very well be drafting between 11-13.

We're going to just miss the play-offs by a half a game then win the lottery Orlando style.

Which makes me think...

What if Shaq and C-Webb had stayed together instead of Webb getting traded? they'd have played perfect together because they can both pass really well, and C-Webb was great at the high post. One of the more dominant front courts of all-time there had Orlando not traded for Penny.

Well at least now they've got Dwight to make up for it.

48 games left. Assuming the Wolves go 20-28, that puts them at 31-51 or .378 win percentage. This would currently be 9th worst win percentage in league just behind NY, Tor, & Chi. If we slip ahead of those three, it puts us at 12th worst. I believe the pick to LA is top 10 protected through next year, and we really don't want to be giving LA the 11th - 14th pick in the 2009 draft. I would definitely consider it to protect the upside risk.
