MIN-ORL (Lee)

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Thu Jan 15, 2009 6:59 pm

Orlando Trades: Lee/Bogans/Battie

Minnesota Trades: Miller/Smith/Ollie

Why for Wolves? Seems like we're giving up a lot, but Lee has looked promising of late, shooting at a very good clip at the 2 while filling in for Pietrus. He looks like a legit prospect that could be a piece for the Wolves for years to come. e shoul dhave more value than a late first from the Cavs which has been proposed in other Miller deals that take Cardinal. Battie adds a possible big body until Pekovic comes over. Bogans adds a little bit of cap relief.

Possible Next year:

Holiday (MN pick)/Foye/Telfair
Foye/Lee
Williams (FA)/Brewer/Gomes/
Love/Jefferson
Jefferson/Battie/

*Then add the rest of the pick or package them with Cardinal for another baaaaaaller.

Why for Oralndo? More 3 point shooting. I know it's craaaaaaazy, right? He could start alongside Hedo and Rashard or supplement them off the bench. But it's what Orlando does. Smith becomes an upgrade change of pace for them at the PF position and is someone who can gobble up offensive boards on missed threes. Ollie provides some vet experience at the point. Orlando would be poised to make a legit finals run.

Nelson/Ollie
Pietrus/Miller
Hedo/Miller
Lewis/Smith
Howard/Gortat

Orlando has recently taken a "Lee is untouchable stance"

Interesting, and somewhat hard to believe. Source?

Lee is okay, he's not better than Mike Miller or Craig Smith. He can go ahead and be untouchable, he doesn't have any special potential.

Lee has gotten a bit of hype from ESPN about his defense so while I wouldn't say he's untouchable, I think Orlando would like to keep him around since they don't have a lot of young prospects.
