Wiretap says that Joakim Noah's name has been thrown around in trade proposals. How about a three way between Chi, NJ, and Min.?

Chicago gets a guy that can score in the paint and open up their offense.

What do you guys think? What would it take to get Noah to Minnesota?

I want no part of Noah, first off I don't think he's a good ball player, also I can't stand looking at the dude, and also I've heard he's not a great chemistry/lockerroom guy.

His upside/talent isnt worth what he would bring here..

As far as Noah being an ugly guy, I can't argue with you there. I have to disagree with you about him being a bad ball player however. If you judge a player simply on his ability to score, then Noah isn't very good. What makes him valuable is his ability to do all of the other things. Thanks to his athleticism, he can guard 3 positions on defense, small forward, power forward, and center. He has long arms, good hops, and great anticipation. If he were given 35 minutes a night he would easily get 10 rebounds and 2 blocks a game. In transition, he gets up and down the court faster than most NBA big men. He has terrific court awareness allowing him to find his open teammates.

Like I said his biggest drawback is scoring, but if he played with Love and Big Al he wouldn't really have to worry about it. He would come in the game and guard the opposing team's best big man, thus allowing Big Al and Love to concentrate on offense.

As far as Noah being a lockerroom problem. I heard the same thing about him last year, but I also heard that it had alot to do with him dealing with being treated like a rook. When Noah played for the Gators, he had great chemistry with his teammates.

I'm no noah fan myself. Some CHI beatwriters are saying that Noah is one of the primary reasons for the locker room problems the Bulls are having. I do recognize a skill-set that could fit, and perhaps re-uniting with Corey Brewer would help him. Or hurt Brewer. You make a good case though.

Now, my view Noah might be coloring my opinion on the trade, but I think we're overpaying here, even moving up a 1st from 29-ish to 20-ish.

I don't think Noah has proven himself to be the ultimate compliment to anybody at the NBA level. In terms of actual production in the role you're talking about (banger/energy guy next to a scoring big) Andy Varejao is the ultimate compliment to Al and Love. He's actually done it.

I understand that Noah fits on paper, but he's not yet been that player in the NBA. I see my fair share of Bulls games, and on the NBA level Noah is not a good defender, or energetic, nor does he display good hops. Del Negro has been starting him of late... here are some stat lines:

He's been kind of a slug honestly; I can believe the rumors that he's the source (or one source) of the Bulls' chemistry problems. Remember, this is a guy whose teammates voted him an extra day suspension from the team last year. How often does that happen in the VERY player-oriented NBA?

I'd take Noah as a throw in or sweetener to a larger deal, but if we're giving up Miller I'd want more than Noah + expirings.

I am a Noah fan, but in principal I don't want anyone taking playing time from Love, and I think Noah would. If Craig Smith is outgoing, as he is here, I may be O.K. with it, but that'd be a prerequisite.

Good point. I think in principle I agree with you here. That being said I think there is literally 0% chance Smith gets traded.

He was terrible in his last game vs. Toronto, but he's very useful on both ends of the floor. He's a good interior defender, shotblocker and a great offensive rebounder.

Jan 19th:
7 points, 18 rebounds (7 offensive), 1 steal, 3 blocks in 31 minutes

Jan 20th:
9 points, 11 rebounds (8 offensive), 1 steal, 1 block in 28 minutes

I think there are enough other options between draft, FA, and trades that we don't have to settle on a player with questionable attitude. I'd prefer to look elsewhere and aim higher.

Oh no. I'm a big backer of him and there are some other Noah backers here as well. No one is
saying he's a big time player yet but I think he can become the type of rotation player we need to match up against the likes of LMA, Durant & Kirilenko among others.
