Wolves/Spurs

Sebastian Telfair - Craig Smith - Calvin Booth - Boston 1st
FOR
George Hill - Kurt Thomas - 2010 1st (lottery protected)

Wolves get a pg (Hill) with potential and is already a better defender than Bassy. Thomas would be a nice back up to Al. He would also join Cardinal, Madsen, and Collins in teaching Al and Love all the vet tricks they know. The 2010 1st for Boston 1st swap lets the Wolves put off one of the picks for a year.

Hill/Ollie
Foye/Miller/McCants
Gomes/Carney -- Brewer
Love/Cardinal/Madsen
Jefferson/Thomas/Collins

Spurs shake their bench up while getting two young (when compared to the rest of their team) guys. Telfair thinks he is the second coming of Tony Parker so he might as well learn from the master. Getting the Boston pick will help them add some more youth to their team this summer.

Parker/Telfair/Vaughn
Mason/Ginobili
Bowen/Finley/Udoka
Bonner/Smith/Mahinmi
Duncan/Oberto/Booth

San An is very high on Hill, as well as the vet influence of Thomas. I doubt they are interested.

I think that the Spurs would have enough vet influence without him.. I would imagine that they are one of the oldest, if not the oldest team in the league.

Duncan/Craig Smith would be nice. Maybe Collins instead of Booth would be of more interest to them?

No chance. Hill is legit.

and the Spurs would be quite short as well. Duncan would be the only one close to or at 7 feet

That may be true, but what does it have to do with this trade?

To elaborate, a couple of things:

1. Hill is a player that San Antonio targeted in the draft. The fact that they took him about a round before he was projected, shows just how highly their front office values him. To boot, Hill has probabyl exceeded their wildest expectations thus far, and as a result, I do not see them willing to move him for just a fair deal.

2. The Spurs are a team that above all value two things: chemistry and defense. Smith and Telfair do not help in either regard.

because they wouldn't want to deal one of their bigger players for a bunch of smaller players?

and yes I'm not counting Booth because he's indeed big but hardly talented. Matt Bonner>>Calvin Booth

So you think Hill is legit but Sessions could be had for McCants?
