I know how to wrap it up:

Jaric>Miller. why? 11 letters or 2 words

Marko plays much better defense too. If they were both on the same contract as Miller who would you want? I'd take Jaric, he is a great match with Foye in the backcourt.

Marko averaged 1.3 spg last year? I look at stats so much, especially Wolves stats, its rare for something like that to take me by surprise. Someone needs to tell or fearless leader that Miller can do more.

Wow, there wasn't much I liked about Jaric and after seeing that it make Miller very disappointing. I still think of Miller as a better player because he has played better in his past. As, good as the Wolves have been can you imagine if Miller was shooting like he did last year for the Grizzlies!

I was never an anti marco guy, he just didn't fit the role they put him in on the wolves. I'm certain he'd thrive in an uptempo offense.

With people's bias towards scoring, I often felt Marco Jaric was often under-appreciated here. Players can help a team win in a number of ways, and they don't always involve scoring 20 PPG.

I agree with the last two posters. I never disliked Marko being here (only his contract). I always thought he was one of the smartest players on the court. he rarely took bad shots, didn't commit a lot of TOs and his D was decent due to basketball IQ.

if he wouldn't have had that long contract I'd want him on our team now. he might be a decent veteran down the stretch. would anyone be against signing him for cheap when he's a FA and we should compete by that time?

so basically if we just adjust expectations from Miller being a 2nd or 3rd scorer lighting it up from outside to Mike Miller: good rebounding point forward, we can find his performance acceptable

and for all we know Mike might be bothered by injury or something, he might have caught SARS in his shooting hand, he's so tough that he'd never complain about it

Count me as one who didn't mind Marco the player (non that's not a reference to his women). He never really put up the stats to warrant his contract but the team just seemed to be better with him. Same for Miller. At this point, I'd say they are both playing like solid $5 million players, not $7-10 million players. One big difference, though, is that Miller has proven he can shoot the lights out so I think that part of his game will eventually come back. At the very least Miller wins the contract contest ($9m X 2 vs. $7 X 3) and the tattoo contest. Jaric wins the girlfriend/spouse contest - although Miller's wife ain't bad either.

Mike actually has shown tons of skills, not much to do but be patient I guess for it to come together. If that outside shot starts falling, he can start getting better positioning to penetrate, work that spin move a bit, and go for a finish or dish off inside to Jeff/Love/Cookie. But with the bricks, he's just Jaric. Especially the free throws, in the 60s, that was unexpected.

I loved Marko, just hated his contract and his luck with women. he's look good playing next to Foye now, without his contract though.

If Miller would only shoot the ball like he has done his entire career, we would not be having this discussion. Marko was a useful guy off the bench. Miller was supposed to be our best 3-point shooter.
I predict that Miller will have some physical problem fixed during the off-season and then announce that he "played with pain" or whatever. Or maybe he just really needs a pair of glasses. I mean, his 3-point shots this year remind me of Mark Madsen's attempts.

You all just miss the Lima pics.

Maybe we should just view what Miller brings to us now, and not what we are expecting him to provide.

I know it's hard for us because we've seen Mike Miller of the past knock down trey after trey and used to be a top 3 point shooter in this league.

With us, he is a playmaker, rebounder, and occasionally gets us points...which is okay if your expectations have gone back down from "Deadly shooter" to "All-around player off the bench for us"..

Once Mike Miller finds that stroke though...oh boy is it gonna be fun to watch.

It's too bad he wasn't around 3M a season and on a shorter deal, he'd fit good here.
He's barely getting off the bench in Memphis.

The Llama thing was pretty cool too.

Miller has better intangibles that don't show on the stat sheet IMO

But Jaric was a pesky defender and the Lima pics are greatly missed.
