Big Al is gonna be mad

Post#1 » by Mattya » Fri Jan 30, 2009 3:48 pm

I can't wait to see how Big Al, and Kevin Love will respond by their All Star snubs.

I have a feeling they are gonna tear David West up next time they play him.

I actually think this is gonna make Big Al a better player, as long as he remembers he has to pass out of double teams. I think it will make him work harder on defense.

I want Big Al to bust off a 40-20 game, and Love to go for a triple double.

And what better game than against the Lakers tonight to have them rip every rebound down and jam it down someone's throat.
I've been a fan since the beginning and I will be until my end.

Al will be a beast tonight vs. LAL but I predict we're still gonna lose that one unless Foye gets back on track from his 3 or 4 not so good games in a row...and is clutch ^^

I find it interesting how fans ( me too) often shift to a certain mindset in these situations. People predict that Al will have a great game (or rest of the season) in response to the All-Star snub. He may, he may not, but then why oh why dont these guys (by these guys, I mean all NBA players), put forth these efforts every night? People shift to this mindset when a good team comes off a loss, or when Love is snubbed (far more inexcusable than Big Al's snub) or Big Al snubbed.

Shouldn't Al be expected to have a great game every night, and not just when coming off of a situation like this? Why can a player suddenly get a chip in his shoulder and play great ball for a stretch in response to these things? I think thats what seperates the good from the great. Bear in mind this statment has nothing to do with Al, per se, justa general thought on the NBA player mentality.

it just goes to show you what certain players truly are capable of if they just went out to play every night. I think in this case, Al was never able to control his destiny and could be averaging 27 and 14 and Shaq still would have made it. But David West..?? and 3 Magic Players?? And Danny Granger is the East version of Al on a crappy team. What a double standard.

I think we've already seen what Kluv will do..I forget who, but he elbowed a guy straight in the face after getting a rebound last game. He was just doing what you're supposed to do, hold the ball high and elbows out to clear the ball. I could watch that in slow motion a million times. I wish I could find it on the web. I'd prolly avatar that.

I think you need to look at it more practically. An NBA player has to play at a high level for at least 82 games a year. To be able to do that requires a tremendous amount of conditioning and effort. NBA players don't put fourth 100 percent of everything they got at all times and that's probably a good thing. Most people would burn out if they strained themselves that hard and it would require a level of discipline that very few have.

In your everyday life do you put forth every iota of effort you can muster to do your job? While in school did you completely focus on every project and assignment? There are very good students and workers but even they can make themselves perform better on that all important exam or that career making project. Human beings rarely give maximum effort every time in doing anything.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

People will cry snub every time their guys get left out, but this is one of the bigger travesties in recent memory.
