Interest remains high in Minnesota sharpshooter Mike Miller, but NBA front-office sources say Rashad McCants is the swingman being shopped hardest by the Wolves.

Earning just $2.6 million in the final year of his contract, McCants would appear to be movable even though he has dropped out of the Wolves' plans.

funny that he holds more value as an exp than as a talent. that kid needs to get on a vet team next year and turn things around.

he used to be one of my fav players. I loved the complete toolbox and the swagger but then he broke all of our hearts by not playing with his. if he could simply wrap his mind and maturity around his talent he would have locked down the starting 2 spot years ago.

Which criteria would define a team that could get the most out of McCants, and therefore, give us the most trade value in return?

1. Minutes? Who could use a bench scoring SG, and would have the minutes to take advantage of McCants upside?

2. Win now? McCants has the chance to be a scorer, and his deal is only for the rest of the season. A team that wants a short-term investment in production might like Rashad?

3. Win later? We'd also be trading McCants bird rights, so they could match any offer if their are willing to give a qualifying offer.

4. Attitude? He'd have the best chance to succeed on a team with a strong culture, or one that has a history of doing well with disgruntled players.

5. Expiring? Who needs a small expiring, and I guess, are we willing to take back a player on a longer contract?

I still think McCants RFA contract makes him a low-risk investment. If he works out, a team gets the production and owns his Bird Rights. If he doesn't, they still get value by not making a qualifying offer, and letting him expire.

OK, so which teams fit some of these criteria. Where would he have the most trade value?

So it becomes obvious why Mccants got PT the other night. I'm sure he knows as well and tried to show his stuff so he could get bailed. Keep working Mccants, good luck wherever you may end up.

We tend to think of McCants as worthless since we don't play him any more, but he has a history of putting the ball in the basket, and that's something that NBA teams like. Even if we value him as an expiring ..

McCants (expiring with potential production) > expiring with no potential production.

Maybe we can get a pickswap?

I'm sure they've been shopping him for months (if not years) now.

Can we trade him for a couple Miami Heat cheerleaders?

We'd be lucky to get the Warriors Alien.

What about the Phoenix Gorilla? I'd be willing to do that.

Thats a thought. We could probably get Kerr to throw in a few cheerleaders or hell maybe even Thunder Dan if we play our cards right.

The Kings have a lion don't they? The Wolf and Lion could stand behind the other teams basket to give the Wolves the intimidating presence they need.

From an outsider's perspective, sounds like a move Dallas could make to get some production from the 2 spot.
Questions:
What are the pros/cons?
What would it take to get him?

Don't make this serious.

We are trying to use humor to take away the sting of the McCants over Granger and Foye over Roy decisions.

canis did a nice write up a couple days ago explaining that predraft mccants and granger were a flip of the coin. the only issues were grangers knee and tweener status and mccants character issues. we flipped the coin and we lost.

mccants has a great skillset but no mental ability to handle that skill. he would be a great gamble for a vet team.
