Now here's a guy I can get excited about!

Golden State has tried to make a play for Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire, but they don't have the large, expiring contracts that the Suns are coveting.
Well WE have about $10 mil in expirings that Sarver craves, and young assets that PHO would probably like.
I like Biedrins here, and his $9 mil/year deal (extending forever) seems OK to me.
I've only started playing with it, but its tough to do a deal and avoid those 5 and 6 year deals GSW handed out to all its swingmen. Also, I don't know if moving Amare means they want to move Barbosa's deal as well -- its fair, but its four years too, whichmay be two years longer than they want. I'll try to get a better feel for the two teams, but if we view the first two constraints, and the BYC's, this meets CBA guidelines:
MIN GIVES: Mike Miller, Rashad McCants, Jason Collins, MIA 1st
MIN GETS: Andris Biedrins, Leandro Barbosa, Kelenna Azubuike, Marcus Williams, Marco BelinelliGet's Biedrins and Barbosa in exchange for expirings, Mike Miller, and a 1st.
GSW GIVES: Andris Biedrins, Brandon Wright, Kelenna Azubuike, Marcus Williams, Marco Belinelli
GSW GETS: Amare Stoudemire, Louis AmundsonGets Amare for Biedrins, Wright and role players.
PHO GIVES: Amare Stoudemire, Louis Amundson
PHO GETS: Brandan Wright, Mike Miller, Rashad McCants, Jason Collins, MIA 1stSave huge salary and get under the lux finally, get some young pieces
I don't feel comfortable with the valuation yet, but I wanted you to see what's got me inspired to put in some work.

Definitely interested in getting in on a trade for Biedrins. Looks like pretty good value initially.

I'm all for Biedrens, especially this year.

Wow that trade gives me a headache.
Phoenix apparently wants expirings AND young talent. McCants is not young talent. You could say that the MIA 1st qualifies as young talent but I think Phoenix wants established young talent, not a question mark.

I think it's pretty close. Phoenix should probably keep Bellinelli. Wright/Bellinelli/Miami 1st/Miller that's a pretty good haul for Amare if you ask me.
If only Biendrins could hit from outside, he'd be perfect.
Word has it though, PHX would like to hang on to Barbosa though.

At worst, McCants is an expiring

Bellinelli can be sent to PHO. I was trying to keep their roster issues to a minimum, but Sarver is so cheap, they don't have 15 players even now.

Thanks. That's the type of info I need to know, because to be honest, I haven't paid much attention to Amare trade talk, since he's such an unlikely guy to come here. Removing Barbosa makes things a bit easier, once we get past Biedrins BYC.

I would love to have him, but if we couldn't get Biedrins what about Ronny Turiaf? I know he's only 6'10, but he can play centre and he's been a monster shot blocker this season. He's a great locker room guy and he may be able lighten the mood and cheer up the rest of the squad as well as bringing much needed defense and toughness.

Doubt they trade their captain, they made a real big deal out of how much he's meant to the team early on.
I'd love to get Beans in a Wolves uniform, but I have less than 0 interest in Barbosa.

I'm not a big fan to be honestm MN's side seems way to good for chopping up some contracts. Also, I think GSW overpays. Like it for PHX, save the barvosa part.. I like Something structured around....
Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Anthony Randolph, Jamal Crawford
Outgoing Players: Mike Miller. rights to pekovic
Phoenix Suns
Incoming Players: Mike Miller, Brandan Wright, rights to pekovic
Outgoing Players: Amare Stoudemire
Golden State Warriors
Incoming Players: Amare Stoudemire
Outgoing Players: Anthony Randolph, Brandan Wright, Jamal Crawford
Now I know most of you probably don't like crawfords 3 year deal, and I can't blame you.

I like it too. Only issue I can see is whether G-State would be willing to give that much up for potentially only 1 year with Amare, considering this year they are too far removed from the playoff hunt. I don't see Amare willing to sign an extension a la KG.

i would love this trade. heck, throw in mccants if either team wanted to take a roll of the dice on him (if it works, of course)
I always liked williams, i rekon he could be a lot of help off the bench, keeping bassy as PG and letting foye play his more natual combo gaurd spot. this would relegate love to 6th man for a long time tho, as jefferson would start with bendris, so beans could cover his defensive deficiencies.
That would be a killer 3 man rotation in the post, big al love and beans. haha big all loves beans. so gay.

GS is giving up too much. Bieds is a pretty valuable player and Wright has significant upside. It's unlikely that both would be on the table in the same deal even for Amare. I would think GS would be trying to do something centered around Ellis/Wright. If they are truly willing to part with Bieds I would say either Bieds/Randolph or Bieds/Bellineli would be the key pieces.
GS lacks quality expirings so adding a third party (like us) definitely makes sense. Plus GS traded their #1 pick, albeit heavily protected, to the Nets so I don't think they can trade their pick right now so we would be a good team to work with in that regard as well.
I don't see how we could land Bieds without giving up Love.

I think Phoenix deserves a bit more out of this deal. They give up Amare and a fan favorite in Amundson. It seems somewhat fair for GS to me. It seems like a no-brainer for us if GS and Phoenix are willing to do it, which probably means its not going to happen. It seems like we might need to add some more value to the deal like Pekovic, the Boston 1st, or a future TWolves 1st.

If Phoenix doesn't want Biedrins or Ellis, they don't trade Amare to Golden State.

Totally agree....Bieds would be the key player Phoenix would want so I don't think you can redirect him here for MN's expirings.

As I understand it, the reason that PHO doesn't want Biedrins or Ellis is the length of their deal. Sarver wants an expiring to get under the lux. Remember, this is the guy that traded an expiring Kurt Thomas to SEA for a TPE and two late firsts, just to save money. The Suns are $6 mil over the lux right now, so Collins is worth about $15 mil to them. I'm doing my best to avoid putting Love in the deal.
ESPN suggests the chances Amare is traded is 80% and that Shaq goes somewhere is 40%.
If the POR rumor has legs (Aldridge, Bayless, and Raef LaFrentz expiring and insured contract), this blows everything else out of the water. I would be very surprised if POR was willing to give all that up. Amare is going to be sent somewhere.
I'm going to go look into offers for Shaq and see if any of them hold water. If he's included, there should be enough cap space match, even with Biedrins TPE, to get PHO under the lux THIS year, and I think that deal would have tremendous appeal to Sarver. Unfortunately, GSW and MIN don't have much room under the lux themselves to avoid going over, and I don't think we'd go over the lux to make a deal happen. In any regard, creating that space may be more important to the Suns than adding extra players, even someone like Bellinelli, but we'll see.
I'll keep looking. Thanks for the comments, everyone.

I don't think GS would do a biedrins and wright (especially with fillers like azuibike and bellineli); but what if they dumped mags on us as well, I think that might entice them to move both of them; I think that would be much more attractive of an offer since Mags is overpaid and I think GS is realizing that.
So here's my shot at it.
GS out Biedrins, Wright, Mags, Williams
In Amare, Banks
-Why? They get Amare. They give up 2 valuable players in biedrins and wright, but they are also able to move mags long contract.
MN out Miller, Booth, Cardinal, Madsen, Mia 1st, Utah 1st
In Mags, Biedrins, Williams, Diogu
-Why? They get Biedrins and an upgrade at SF in Mags even if he is overpaid. We get more talent but take on more long term salary
Miami out Banks, Marion
in miller, cardinal, dragic, madsen, booth
-Why? They get a player in Miller who would fit in nicely for them for the next year and a half. They also move banks's 2010 deal.
pho out dragic, amare
in raef, wright, mia 1st, rights to freeland, 09 NY 2nd, utah 1st
-Why? If they want instant cap relief, raef's insured contract looks very nice to them. They get a nice young player in wright, two firsts, a 2nd, and freeland who was a former first rounder who supposedly looks pretty good in Europe.
Port out raef, diogu, rights to freeland, 09 NY 2nd
in marion
Why? They upgrade at SF for the rest of the year without compromising future salary and by giving up very little; also this way they can see if marion would be someone that could play SF for them.

I think Skorff26 is right that GS would be more inclined if they could dump Maggette on us. That said I'd be less inclined to give up the Miami pick in that kind of deal, but could consider Utah and Boston. Maggette is a good scorer, but not a good team player so you have to weigh that against the contract length as well. It would be tough to take him on though even though I love the idea of Biedrins.
This was what I thought, but I think with the BYC it needs some tweeks.
MN In: Maggs & Beans
MN Out: Collins,Miller, McCants, Picks
GS IN: McCants, Amare
GS Out: Maggs, Beans
Phoenix IN: Collins (exp), Miller, Picks
Phoenix Out: Amare
