I wouldn't make a move for him at all, this team has had enough injury concerns over the years. :(

If Chandler is available now for Cardinal/Collins you do the deal. I'ts risk involved, I know, but:

1) Young defensive-minded centers are a rare breed and it's so happens that the Wolves are in dire need for one.
2) Chandler would be ideal next to Big Al and Love. I can't stress it enough, that's your ultimate frontcourt of the future.
3) Presumably Chandler's health issuies aren't with his ancle, but with his toe, so that might not be a very big deal.

Interesting that TFKAS mentions a possible drug situation.

If there was not a serious injury or drug situation TFKAS would not have rescinded.

^Haha did you see that your favorite new poster foyemyboy suggested he failed the drug test in the thread you linked(in locked thread) as the second or third post?

CTC called for this a couple of days ago in the Wolves/Hornets post...

Unless there is a serious long-term injury situation...move the expirings to make the deal work and get Chandler on board. He can sit the rest of the year and then start him next to Big Al next season.

It's so easy from where we sit!

Do we have enough salary to get Hinrich AND Chandler???

Some Combo of: Collins/Cardinal/McCants/Booth/Madsen

We get Chandler/Hinrich?

Yes, according to trade checker we could do

booth/mccants/cardinal for Hinrich

and

Craig Smith(*or Bassy)/Collins for Chandler.

Dont get your hopes up, but it is possible.

Bad news for our MIN pick.

I had hoped Chandler would get enough wins for OKC this season for them to pass us in the standings.

OKC has been playing really well lately. That's still very possible.

yeah, we're going to have to have a nice run to win more games than OKC the rest of the way.

Let's focus on rooting against Miami.

It's Durant vs Love, whomever leads their team to more victories the rest of the season wins the title as best skinny Small Forward in the NBA

Let's not forget the undercard - "Best non-point guard who thinks he's a point guard, all evidence to the contrary" between Russell Westbrook and Randy Foye.

What a bad position for the Hornets... they've set the market for Chandler as expirings only, and everyone knows they need to dump payroll. Only Chandler now has LESS value than when they pulled the trigger on the OKC deal because of the injury questions.

If I ran the Wolves I would offer New Orleans:

Collins, McCants, Booth

... as well as insisting on a pickswap or other future picks if Chandler doesn't play in a requisite number of games per year over the rest of his contract (say, 55 or less and we get a first rounder or the right to swap picks as compensation?) He is an injury risk, but one worth taking IMO.

I could be wrong, but I do not think you can put that kind of a condition on a pick swap.

That's not a bad thought. You have to just know that NOH is desperate to make a deal now so that Chandler doesn't come back and have to interact with the team that tried to get rid of him.

Its tough to put a valuation on him now, without full knowledge of the medical report, but I was considering how Cardinal + Collins would fit their financial needs (it saves them about $18 mil, including the painful $12 mil post 2010), and provide a little vet help for a very shallow front court.
