Gay/ConleyJr/Haddedi
for
Foye/Brewer/Smith/Miami 1st
Gay and Foye are about equally productive, then they get Brewer and a pick in the late teens for Conley Jr and Craig Smith to replace Warrick in case he doesn't come back

Fair value, but Memphis says no. They turned down Gay for Amare-- who plays a position of need, not sure they want three players at positions they don't need.

Be honest, you're just trying to get Gay/Love on one team...

if memphis turned down gay for amare it was probably about contract size/length issues. I don't know if I'd want to trade gay for a season and 2 months of Amare either.

ya....we might not have the Kobe-Gasol combination, but we have the Gay-Love combination! imagine they stand side by side under the basket for a FT, it'd be funny to take a pic from behind with their names lines up on their backs..................
back on the topic, Memphis says no, they wont let Gay go, not if u trade Lebron or Kobe to them

Gay's numbers have declined since OJ Mayo came to town, so I think he could be traded in the right offer.
Corey Brewer should probably stay put. If the fans on the boards are any representation of NBA front offices, he doesn't have much positive trade value. At a minimum, he's worth more to us than to them. The last offer I saw that had him in it, he was used as an expiring .. in fact, they suggested buying him out. You might try using the UTA pick instead, particularly since it keeps 2009 dollars from cutting into MEM's money under the salary cap.
I'd probably do the deal then. I don't know about MEM though.

I don't see Memphis trading Gay for Foye.

From what I've heard, Mem isn't that high on Gay. The problem I have with it is what does that leave Mem with at the point? Sure they can draft one with their top 5 pick, but they already traded Crit and Lowry, why would they put all that faith in Conley and then dump him for a combo guard...unless they think Mayo is their point, a Foye/Mayo backcourt would be....interestingly redundant.

Having a young core of Jefferson, Love, Gay would be incredible, but there's no way Memphis would do it.

only way see Memphis movie Gay and Conley would be for Jefferson and I am not ready to give up on the Al/love project yet.

I agree. It would make for a couple nice cores, though.
Conley
Foye
Gay
Love
Mayo
Jefferson
Gasol

well there's no way that package gets Al Jefferson
my basis for the trade is that Gay hasn't improved in 3 seasons - not even a little bit - so this would seem to be what Rudy Gay is, there's no reason to think he has a much higher ceiling than where he's at now. So I think it's fair to say Foye/Mia 1st is a solid offer for Rudy gay. Rudy Gay is about equal to Gerald Wallace value-wise.
Now Conley on the other hand, I never understood the bust talk and felt he needs patience to let him figure it out, and it might be coming together for him now. If I was Memphis I might rather have Conley since his value is lower, but I think he has more potential than Gay, so I'm not sure if Brewer and Craig Smith would be enough enticement since there was Sessions/Alexander talk earlier and Conley is playing even better now.
The fans all want Mayo at PG, don't know what Mphis FO thinks though, but if they wanted to try it out, a SG w/ some PG abilities like Foye could be a fit.
Maybe it's underpaying, but Jefferson is way overpaying. Initially when I thought it up, I wanted to create something around the Wolves' draft pick, but it was hard to make salaries match

I wouldn't want to include Brewer. A lineup of Conley-Brewer-Gay-Love-Jefferson looks nice but I feel like if we ever decide to trade Foye it will be Chauncey Billups all over again.
For some reason I can't see Gay being a good player on a good team. I am all over the place on this trade.

by Foye
I would not mind that trade but I don't think Memphis will agree on that one.
I'd rather do a seperate trade for Conley.
I have the feeling Conley can be a really solid pg with an all around game that is special...he just needs time to develop.
Conley would be my 2nd favorite choice for our pg in the future right behind Ricky Rubio, regarding young players we could actually get

I'd probably do a Conley + Memphis 1st + a bad contract for Foye + Miami 1st and a solid roleplayer but I highly doubt Memphis would do that

We have come too far with getting rid of bad contracts to take back someone like Jaric (which is probably the bad contract). Not to mention Conley hasnt really shown much in the league that says he can be that special player.

Has Gay ever had a good game against us? It seems like he always gets his 13-20 points against us, but they are very quiet points early in the game. He just doesn't seem active enought. He's got a bunch of ability, but I've never been impressed seeing him play against us.

I was talking to a buddy of mine (Grizz fan) about possible trade ideas and one sparked his interest. If we get #1 overall pick, select Blake Griffin. Grizzlies would select Ricky Rubio (if he's coming out/there) and in a trade ship Rudy Gay+Ricky Rubio to us for Blake Griffin. I'm not sure if that would work, but we would have a lineup of Rubio/Foye/Gay/ alongside Love/Jefferson/______

If that option presented itself we should take the trade and run, and then change our phone number so they can't ever call and complain. Might be best to move and enter the witness protection program as well.
C - Jefferson/Smith
PF - Love/Gomes
SF - Gay/Miller
SG - Foye/Brewer
PG - Rubio/Telfair
We'd over course be looking to draft a center with the Miami or Boston pick, I'm a fan of Jerome Jordan's potential. But yeah, we'd basically be a solid center who can rebound and play defense away from being not just a play-off contender, but a shot at advancing. Of course we'd have to match salaries, here's a couple options...
Wolves give: Brian Cardinal and Blake Griffin
Grizzlies give: Rudy Gay, Quinton Ross, and Ricky Rubio
Ok Wolves dominate that trade, so we'd probably have to add the Utah pick? Of course if Rubio comes out, any combination with him and Gay for Griffin and filler we're going to dominate.
Wolves give: Craig Smith, Mark Madsen, and Blake Griffin
Grizzlies give: Rudy Gay and Ricky Rubio
Wolves give: Mike Miller and Blake Griffin
Grizzlies give: Rudy Gay, Greg Buckner, and Ricky Rubio
I think the most fair for both teams would be the Cookie/Mad Dog/Blake for Gay and Rubio trade. Grizzlies get a couple expirings who'll gain value around the deadline, plus Cookie would be an excellent back-up PF to play with Gasol.
C - Jefferson/
PF - Love/Gomes
SF - Gay/Miller
SG - Foye/Brewer
PG - Rubio/Telfair
We'd be looking to spend the Miami, Utah(potentially), and Boston picks on big men. Jordan, Summers, Mullens(if he slips or we package picks), Brackins, etc... We'd have at least 3 guys who are 30 point threats.

I like that a lot, and agree with john2jer's additions.

To me Foye vs Gay is a wash. Foye needs consistency and maybe a more defined role. Foye hasn't been terribly efficient this season, and very streaky but I think he is somewhere around 20\3\4 the past few months while shooting a horrible %. If this team is looking for a good addition to our current parts then I'm not sure Gay would be it, nor do I think Conley is much of a boost.
This is a wash for me talent wise
