MIL + DAL + MIN

Special thanks go to JES12 and RingtheBell .. two of their forum's best posters.

DAL GETS: Mike Miller
DAL GIVES: Stackhouse + Shawn Williams

Miller would be great in DAL. and he's completely safe as a $9.8 mil expiring.

MIL GETS: Stackhouse + Craig Smith + 2010 UTA (top 15-17 prot)
MIL GIVES: Ridnour + Alexander + Malik Allen + 13th ($1.8 mil)

MIL OUT: $10.3 mil + pick, MIL IN: $4.3 .. saves $7.8 mil. If Stackhouse is waived before 8/10, he only costs $2 mil. I assume MIL would rather have the extra space than Malik Allen, MIN buys him out. This gives MIL the cash so they can make offers to both Sessions and Villanueva, without going over the lux -- something MIL refuses to do.

MIN GETS: Ridnour + Alexander + Shawn Williams + Malik Allen + 13th
MIN GIVES: Mike Miller + Craig Smith + 2010 UTA (top 15-17 prot)

MIN downgrades their talent but gets some decent middle-round prospects as they prepare for 2010. Ridnour (expiring) could even play a little for us, and we'd buy out Malik Allen's expiring, so the 2010 impact is negligible. We could even use the cap space to offer Miller a 2010 contract if we chose

If we're ready to rent Miller out next year, this Miller-to-DAL thing is a gold mine for both of us. Stackhouse's buy out .. after the draft .. is almost like trading a desperate team a TPE. If a team doesn't want Miller's production (and his expiring helps too), then the $5.6 mil TPE is a huge value.

I'd do this in a heartbeat; I love Joe Alexander, and the Milwaukee pick could be packaged with the Miami pick to get us another selection in the top ten. Depending on where our pick falls, it could be possible to finagle both Thabeet and Harden.

I would love this deal; also I think Milwaukee would do it even if they got Utah's pick this year since they could always just sell it to someone

Also in a trade like this, I would take Elson from Milwaukee so they wouldn't have to pay him either (maybe send him to Dallas); I would also include our 2 2nd rounders from the Chalmers trade which would give Milwaukee a few cheap contracts on their roster as well.

Would Milwaukee really include their 1st rounder in that? Because I would love that trade.

MIL tried to trade their pick + Ridnour + Arthur for expirings before the trade deadline, so they'd have the dollars available to keep Sessions and Villanueva. In this deal, they get that and trade Malik Allen for Craig Smith, the UTA protected pick, but have to eat $2 mil, so that seems like a "yes."

Its after the last day of the season for any team, so if MIL doesn't make the play-offs, April 16th.

Well played, OJ.

I like this trade. Anyone seen Joe Alexander play this year? Fits on paper, but I haven't seen him play since the draft highlights (which I realize isn't actually playing, you know what I mean...)
