Draft day trade scenario.

As the title indicates, a little scenario I wanted to throw out there to gage feelings on trade and prospect value.
Let's say Clippers end up with the #2 pick and MN ends up with the #6. Griffin goes first and Rubio has declared. LAC comes to MN with this offer. The #2 pick (Rubio most likely) for our #6 AND taking away all protection on the pick owed to LAC, meaning our first next year regardless.
MN in: #2 pick in 2009 draft
LAC in: #6 pick in 2009 draft + protection removed from picked owed to LAC.
Myself, I would be inclined to do that and I think most in MN would make the trade (not thinking it would be feasible from LAC side, but unsure), but I could be mistaken.
Now if this were the case, who would still do it if Rubio was no longer available (didn't declare)? Who would do it if it were the #3 and not the #2? Would you trade the #6 (or could be #5) to move up a few spots? Who would you move up for? Harden? Thabeet? Would it make a difference if we fell to #7?
Just some thoughts/ideas/questions I came up with when in the trade forum seeing some proposals for Baron Davis and the #3. We have the unique trade item with the clips in regards to our protection or potential pick back and this seemed an interesting way to utilize it and garner some discussion on the matter.
