Who would you trade Blake Griffin for?

Rubio is staying in Spain, Wolves draw the #1 pick. Just their luck, the only obvious choice is a PF, and no one in the next few picks wants to move up. Would you trade it for:

D.J. Augustin?
Michael Beasley?
Caron Butler?
Jose Calderon?
Rudy Fernandez?
Rudy Gay?
Eric Gordon?
Danny Granger?
Devin Harris?
Andre Iguodala?
Joe Johnson?
OJ Mayo?
Jameer Nelson?
Tony Parker?
Tayshaun Prince?
Rodney Stuckey?
Russell Westbrook?

I've tried to keep obvious untouchables, as well as redundant big men, off this list. If you've got another realistic option, add it to the list.

Should Jeff Green be on this list? I think Thunder would be very interested in Griffin. Green and their pick.

I'd do a Griffin + Miller for Westbrook + their pick.

From the original list the only guys I'd trade Griffin for are Butler, Westbrook, Granger, Parker, and Harris. There'd have to be something add in, likely from both sides, but those would be the only five that would itnerest me.

D.J. Augustin is flying under the radar this season, but I think he'd be worthy of consideration. He's shooting 40%+ from three and 90%+ from the line. Respectable A/TO, would probably thrive in an environment where he got more minutes. Along with him, I'd probably trade it for Rudy Gay, Eric Gordon, Danny Granger, Devin Harris, OJ Mayo, and Russell Westbrook. I'd say no to Andre Iguodala, Joe Johnson, Caron Butler, Jose Calderon, and Michael Beasley. I'd need some extra incentive for Rudy Fernandez, Jameer Nelson, Tony Parker, Tayshaun Prince, and Rodney Stuckey.

So you would trade Blake Griffin for Eric Gordon straight up?

That's ridiculous.

All Gordon can do is score, Blake Griffin is way better.

I would not even do Love for Gordon.

I don't think the value of having the most obvious star of the season locked up for four years on a rookie deal in this economic climate can be stressed enough. That makes me feel like there are only two guys I would consider, Granger and Devin Harris.

Now, Granger is the #1 star of the Pacers, and two weeks ago, I think everyone would agree he was untradable. However, with the recent economic news of staggering losses by the Pacers, and the possibility of losing their franchise, I don't think any financial option is off the table.

As for Devin Harris, again we see a situation where he's a big star for the Nets, but the Nets are facing financial difficulties as well. However, with the emergence of Brook Lopez, it might not be a big marketing loss, particularly when the Nets spin it to say there starting front court for a long time will be the young Griffin + Lopez.

D.J. Augustin: Maybe - if another asset was added
Michael Beasley: No
Caron Butler: Probably
Jose Calderon: No
Rudy Fernandez: No
Rudy Gay: Yes
Eric Gordon: No
Danny Granger: Yes
Devin Harris: Yes
Andre Iguodala: No
Joe Johnson: Yes but don't know why ATL would do that
OJ Mayo: Maybe
Jameer Nelson: No
Tony Parker: Yes
Tayshaun Prince: No
Rodney Stuckey: No
Russell Westbrook: Yes

Griffin and Foye for Westbrook and Green works for me. Then draft one of Evans/Turner/DeRozan at 17.

Westbrook/Telfair
Turner/Brewer
Green/Gomes
Love
Jefferson

Looks nice to me.

Granger is the only guy on the list I'd want.

I say A Randolph + 7 or bust.

Griffin is way better, but he doesn't do anything on a Wolves team that already has Al Jefferson and Kevin Love. In absence of a better move, Gordon is worthy of consideration.

I've no interest in Anthony Randolph. This team needs a SF who can hit threes.

If this happens, why isn't the question who do we trade Klove for? In my mind Griffin will be the superior player and would have been the #3 pick last year if he came out.

As far as a trade, I'm with Shrink. On that list I only see Granger and Harris and maybe Gay I'd do straight up for Griffin. Everyone else is too expensive or too close to 30 (remember Griffin will be extremely cheap for many years and is only 19 or 20).

I think a much more likely trade will be a trade down a few slots plus we'd get some extra value.

Because Love compliments Jefferson and Griffin duplicates Jefferson, and because Griffin would likely return more value.

Griffin would not have been the third pick last year, that's rewriting history.

Hmm maybe something like:

Griffin + Miami Pick + Rights to Pekovic for

Westbrook + Green would be interesting.

Did not check if it would work financially though and I'm not sure if OKC would do it (don't think so, honestly)...

I agree Love is a better compliment because he's got an outside shot and can pass well, but you could argue that Griffin would compliment Al because he'd give us a freak athlete in the front court which neither Love or Al are.

As far as rewriting history, Griffin wouldn't have been the certain number three pick, but at least Ford wrote on multiple occaisons that the scouts he talked to thought he was the third best player (prior to declaration day of course). I believe he was ranked at number three on Ford's big board as well until he pulled off the players that didn't declare. Would he have been the number three over Mayo? Maybe, but my guess is yes.

No way I would trade Griffin...bring Love off the bench...injuries happen all the time in the NBA...what if Big Al has trouble coming back? Better to have 3 big men that can play than 2 IMO...

Tviper, that is an interesting idea. Could the three of them play together? I think it comes down to the actual size of Griffin. if he is 6'10/11 then why not. If he is only 6'8/6'9 then doubtful. DX has him as a 4/5. Only issue is he does copy the idea of offensive minded w/o defense.

I think the best situation is the Green+Westbrook. If we could get something along those lines I will be very happy.
