What would it look like? For me, realistic means no Harden, Rubio or Griffin. We end up with 4th or 5th. You guys can obviously define what's realistic to you.

My hope is that we still make a serious trade. But if we draft straight up...(*Based on DX--not my projections of who is available)

#5---My hope is Thabeast drops to us. otherwise Turner/Harden/Rubio/Evans. I could even see Curry getting some consideration. The problem is the questions involved. Is Harden 6'5? is Henderson? Is Curry a pg? Can Evans play pg? Not knowing if Turner or Rubio are in the draft hurt also. We know that Mchale valued winning programs as well as tourney success. That would make Henderson the top piece. He is a late bloomer, but he hustles, is athletic, gets to the line and seems to be a good teammate. But how much value do we put in his play since the ACC tourney? Why has he not been that way all year? Is his upside a fluke, is Harden's downside a fluke? My concern with Harden has been his height, but lately he seems passive and lethargic. Uninterested. Turner is gaining buzz on these boards lately but in reality what makes him different than Marko Jaric? He is a poor man point forward. How would his role be less than what Mike Miller is doing this year for us?

I would go Thebeast if available. if not I would go for Turner. Not sure where he would play, but I really like him on and off the court.

#18--DX has Holiday available. I grab him in a second. I know he is not ready yet, but when he gets everything figured out he is an athletic character guy that focuses on defense but can score.

#29--BPA. For me that is Omri Casspi (*and stash him in europe) might be the best idea. Casspi is very versatile and can do alot of things but isn't a specialist at anything. He has great handles and is very athletic. I would not be surprised to see him taken mid-1st rd.

1. Gerald Henderson (Harden or Rubio if available, but I doubt they will be)
And two of Evans/Jennings/Teague/Curry/Lawson/Flynn/Maynor/Holiday/Collison

There is no chance Rubio falls past the top 2

- Heat pick: Ty Lawson, Eric Maynor, DeJuan Blair (I don't think he lasts this long, but I've seen a few mocks where he's way down), Terence Williams, and Jerome Jordan

I'd also gauge whether I thought Ben Woodside would get drafted and consider taking him in the 2nd if I didn't think I could get him as an undrafted FA, especially since I doubt both Heytvelt and Green will be there at our 2 2nd round picks

Still have it but I think he ends up in T-Wolves no-man's-land (10-18) and they miss out on him. Realistically, I don't think they take him in the top 6 and I think he's gone before the Heat pick comes. I think they go big guard with the top pick if Aldrich doesn't come out.

Do you really think they would grab Aldrich? Other than being american and younger he is the same as Pekovic.

Big guard will be huge for us. btw, I am enjoying the Canis draft write-ups.

5. Thabeet - considered Aminu, Turner, Derozan and Jennings but Thabeet seems to be the one game that really changes the game in college, even if that change is mostly on the defensive end.

18. Maynor - might go Holiday if he declares (which he shouldn't) and is available.

29. Buddinger - don't know if it's realistic to project him here, but Ford has him listed as #47 so I'll go with him. Might never be a starter but would plays alot like Miller and could give us a Miller lake presence for 20 minutes a night (assuming Miller is eventually traded).

If we go non-center at #5 I'd love Aldrich or Mullens to be there at #18. Much more likely it'd be Mullens with Aldrich's stock skyrocketing. I've never seen Pekovic outside of some highlights but I think both are better athletes and have more shotblocking/defensive presence than Pekovic and thus are good fits here. But could be completely wrong.

Thanks. I do think Aldrich is significantly different than Pekovic. I think he has a wingspan of between 7'3" and 7'5" and if his standing reach is in the range of a player above 7 feet, I think his defensive potential is huge. It looks like he could add about 25 lbs without sacrificing anything in terms of agility. The kid is gigantic. His true height will be huge. If he has a nice jump with an absurd standing reach/wingspan, I think they get everything they want defensively from a player like Thabeet in a guy who can play offense.

Also, I think the player that interests me the most, aside from all considerations of current talent, is Tyreke Evans. 6'6" with a 6'11.5" wingspan (DX doesn't have his standing reach) in a guard that can run the pick and roll and could be paired with Foye. I think he changes the face of the team more than any other player in this draft. He is a guy that can guard the big 2s that Foye cannot. Also, it gives the Wolves the opportunity to go huge across the perimeter at 6'6" or above with Brewer and Miller or Gomes.

What's really interesting about Evans is that his strengths and weaknesses are the mirror opposite of O.J. Mayo. Mayo was kind of undersized and can't get to the line but scores with a highly developed mid and long range game. Evans is super-sized and can't shoot from the outside but scores with a highly developed dribble-drive game. Both guys will probably be best suited as an on-the-ball shoot-first point guard in the NBA. The pick and roll possibilities of a 6'6" point who can get to the rim playing with Kevin Love are kind of intriguing.
