Is Foye injured or is he the next T-hud?

Post#1 » by NewWolvesOrder » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:36 am

Foye has played like total crap lately. Is it because he's still nursing some injuries? Otherwise wolves may have another Troy Hudson on the team: streaky shooting, with heavy reliance on 3 pointers to fall, bad defense, percentages around 40%, lousy playmaking, no ugly ponytail though. When Foye's outside shot is on he looks great, but when it's off he doesn't contribute much, sometimes even hurting his team. I am afraid he will continue to go up and down from hot to cold streak for the rest of his career, then he's just a 6th or 7th man, and his contract extention better not be more than what Gomes makes.

seems if he isn't featured as the #1 option then he's invisible since all he can do is score points when he can dominate the ball

I think he suffers from lack of direction. If he is a pg, then what have we done to help him with that? If he is a SG then give him time to learn. He suffers the most from having piss poor coaching.

he looked good right after Big Al went down but then he just fell off, got some injuries, or maybe he's just unable to sustain good lavel of play long stetches of games.

This thread is confusing, because Foye is probably nursing a sore ankle, and Hudson was really good before he himself was injured.

REALLY good?
He had a pretty good couple of playoff games against the Lakers, other than that he was decent at best.

I think the injuries are definitely affecting him but he is also way off as well. He should try to exploit his mid-range game more. He rarely gets calls when he drives and when his J is off he is useless beyond the arc.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

^What he said.

Foye is a young kid going through some injury troubles. Saying he's the next T-Hud is simply not fair to put on him right now. I say we give the kid time and see how he is next season before we start making such judgments.

Redundant question. Foye being injured would make him the next T-Hud. Minus the lyrical skills.

It's time to come to grips with the fact that this guy just isn't that good. He's not bad, but average at best.

IMO we need upgrades at all the 1 through 3 positions to actually make some noise. I have some patience with Brewer because he is so raw, but Telfair is a backup PG for certain, and Foye is far from anything special.

Come on. Marbs, Brandon, Cassell were all clearly better than Foye. I'm tempted to throw Rider in there too just based on pure natural talent level. (Too bad that guy was such a headcase)

He's started to slump pretty badly ever since he missed that second game winning shot. The losses are taking their tole on everyone, and there is no real motivation. Who knows where he'll end up, but i'm getting worried.

Interesing we are discussing Jalen Rose in another thread. If Denver would have stuck with him until he was the player he was in indy then they would have had a nice player. But they gave up. This is Foye's first real season. Yet because he is not Ray Allen we give up.

That Rose trade might have been one of the worst of all time. Not only did Denver give up Rose for a one year rental of Mark Jackson (he went right back to Indiana hahaha), but they additionally agreed to a pick swap with Indiana which put them behind Kobe, Nash, Jermaine O'Neal, Stoyakovic, and Illgauskas (unfortunately Indiana drafted Dampier). Denver ended up picking (i kid you not) Efthimios Rentzias from Greece with their pick-- one pick ahead of Derek Fisher--ha!. So instead of having Rose and Kobe Bryant for 10 years they had Mark jackson for one year and Rentzias for no years.

The GM at the time, none other then Bernie Bickerstaff-- who was somehow later handed an expansion franchise. Ha!
