I thought this deserved it's own thread. It is almost too good to be true. Like an Onion article or something. What could be worse than Mike Dunleavy coaching and Mike Leavy GMing? How about Mike Dunleavy coaching and Isiah Thomas GMing! It's like they're seriously trying to have the first home game with an empty building. What the hell is going on over there?

From wiretap--

Isiah Thomas is actively looking for a new job and met with Clippers' owner Donald Sterling about a front office position. The meeting was arranged by Mike Dunleavy.

Several NBA sources confirmed the February meeting to ESPN.com.

The talks were informal but substantive and there have been follow-up discussions.

an attempt by Donald Sterling to make a statement against Elgin Baylor's racism allegations.

"How could I be a racist? First guy I interview is black!"

Isiah might actually be useful as a college scout, just not as an NBA scout or GM.

To make this on topic. What are the chances Coach Kev leaves us if he thinks he can get a job there. Let's face it if they are think about taking Thomas, they would have to consider McFail, hell maybe I should apply.

You know, that makes kind of a disgusting sense. He could be thinking, "Well, I want to hire this white guy, but I want to look culturally sensitive. What black guy could I interview that NOBODY would be disappointed if I didn't give him the job?"

Elgin Baylor has no shot with that age discrimination suit. Sterling runs a very successful law firm here in Los Angeles and has been an employer long enough, I'm guessing, to establish a history of employee african americans. It's alse clear he was fired with cause-- Elgin Baylor didn't exactly produce many winning seasons in clipper land-- although he did a much better job than Dunleavy. Funny enough, I just received an assignment to prepare pleading requirement for an age discrimination suit from a senior attorney. So by the end of the day I should e more of an expert on the topic.

Also a very good point.

It says front office job, not GM. His draft record is decent, why not be a scout?

Hmm... I could have swore it said GM before...

Isn't Isiah already a scout with the Knicks and getting paid boat loads of $? I don't think he would wal away from that dough for a lateral move.

The city of Los Angeles should use its power of Eminent Domain to seize that team based on the fact that it is a blighted franchise...

The thing that blows my mind about the clippers is that Sterling spent 20 years refusing to spend money on players, and then he goes hogwild and pays through the nose for Randolph, Camby and Baron Davis.

I'm a Zach fan and all, but WOW.
