"Toronto ex Sam Mitchell, according to NBA coaching sources, is indeed likely to emerge as the top candidate in Minnesota -- where he was beloved as a player by Wolves owner Glen Taylor -- if Kevin McHale decides not to return as coach"

Flip is wearing a bad tie, so he's out. That's how we're deciding.

Flip has coached four of his last five teams to the conference finals.

Flip's a good coach, but I find his style boring. No thanks, once was enough.

Sam Mitchell is an excellent example of how being a nice job is one of the most important qualifications in being an NBA head coach.

His tenure in Toronto was a disaster (to anyone who paid attention), but already he's back in the mix for another job.

Meanwhile, Laimbeer has been the best coach in WNBA history, and probably will never get an NBA shot, because people think he's a jerk.

Laimbeer would be a great coach for Kevin Love very simular talents and my best case scenario for Love would be a slightly better version of Laimbeer.

Every year Jay Wright is "on the list".

T to the Izzo and Flip are probably easy no's for different reasons. Im not a Mitchell fan and still hope that we can find a jedi in training from another team.

I want to give Mitchell a shot. He showed me a lot of his leadership while he was a player, bringing KG up and making him a man. I think if you give Mitchell the right guys, a group of guys who are willing to listen and learn, which this team is in certain ways, I think he can get it done.

Sam Mitchell's handling of Bargnani tells me that young players are exactly the sort of players he isn't good at coaching.

Seems to me that Bargs is the exact opposite of what Sam Mitchell's philosophy is. Soft but a good shooter, not a good defender. Doesnt play in the post much and since Colangelo was all over Bargs' jock he forced the coach into a Terry Porter like position. Not saying Mitchell deserves a pass, just that that doesnt mean Mitchell cant do well with young bucks.

Though i think Sam is a better candidate for a contender anyway.

And his mentoring and in a lot of ways, coaching of Kevin Garnett tells me otherwise.

The sum total of his mentoring of KG is that he got him to ice his knees after games.
