My thoughts are that we will look to trade for a vet SF this offseason. Who are some realistic possibilities?

ATL - Williams S&T
CHA - Wallace
CLE - James
DAL - Howard
DET - Prince
DEN - Anthony
MEM - Gay
NO - Posey
OKC - Green
WAS - Butler

I think Posey would be the easiest one to get but I doubt he'll fit considering age and lack of talent (relatively)

I'm sure everyone could be had for the right price except for James obviously and to a lesser degree Anthony

I was trying to be sneaky. Obviously, it didn't work.

No one thinks we could get James for Miller and Cardinal?

funny we make these threads at the same time Klomp. Surprised you did not mention Smith as a possibility.

While a tweener, I consider him a PF more than SF.

from what I've seen and read Josh Smith is a PF suited in a SF body so I'm not sure if he'd fit well here.

He could act as the third big man in the rotation and play the rest of his minutes at sf. I think he is a good fit.

He is a SF, he only plays PF because of who is on atlanta's roster.

What would it take to get him? I think I'd even include Foye in a deal, but not sure its necessary.

I think he can be an AK-type SF. I think he only plays PF for atlanta because of the other SF's.

Foye should be considered as a filler in a deal involving Josh Smith

OK, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I thought I was overvaluing him for a sec.

yes even if he still has upside (IMO he has) but let's face it: he's kind of injury prone and while he still might become a decent player he's already a few years older than Josh Smith (he's ~22 isn't he?)

what about s&t MM for Odom, I know he's not the ideal SF, but he has the footspeed to handle it, plus it'd be easier to have Foye on the court w/ Odom as an extra playmaker and he'd give us an unparalleled rebounding advantage. Plus he could act as a quasi 3rd bigman off the bench too.

And for Odom he'd be getting a better contract than anywhere else plus we could play him 40 minutes a game between starting SF and giving Love and Jefferson breathers at PF.

Odom looks good now because he is on a team that is constantly winning. I have seen Odom's work on ~.500 teams and it isnt pretty.

Most people tend to think Odom has lost a step and is more of a 4 now then a 3.

You cite Odom for an extra ballhandler and rebounder. Isnt that what Miller brings?

I dunno, just a thought; figure he could be had for about 4 years 30 mil and that seems a good deal for Odom. He could play some SF and some PF or even Center in an alternate smaller lineup that would give us a running dimension we sorely lack right now.

I'd trade Mike Miller and add in Rev as filler to get Josh Smith. I'd add in the Miami pick as well. They have any bad contracts we could take on?

C - Love/Jordan
PF - Smith/Smith
SF - Gomes/Carney
SG - Foye/Brewer
PG - Evans/Telfair

Until Jefferson comes back, then slide Josh Smith down to SF and insert Jefferson in as the PF. J-Smooth could definitely play the AK47 roll. Smith can't hit the outisde shot, but he could definitely play help defense and block shots for us. He's also another go to scorer.
