A Vet PG?

The interview with Stack at halftime makes me wonder if we will go after a vet PG this offseason, either in trade or free agency.
I think with the current economy, some of the better FA players might go for the MLE or less. The only question is if they would come here.
A couple PGs I currently have in mind are Mike Bibby and Jason Kidd. I think Bibby would be more likely to come here than Kidd though.
Other PGs include Andre Miller and Stephon Marbury

Indiana is about the worst trading partner in the league for us. They are loaded at SG/SF/PF, and not much else. I doubt they'd be interested in Mike Miller

I was thinking more along the lines of Cardinal/Utah 1st. Him and Jack don't get along so I doubt they keep both. Also saving some money is big for the Pacers.

Hmmm, how did fans like Cardinal when he was at Purdue?

To be honest I didn't even think of that. How could fans not like Cardinal?

Brian Cardinal was a HUGE fan favorite at Purdue. I don't see Bibby leaving Atlanta.

trade Big Al for Devin Harris, then trade expirings for Kaman to fill the center position, Harris is an allstar pg and still very young, gets to the line at will and is a great target for Love's outlet passes. Kaman is a better defensive anchor than Jefferson and his trade value is low right now.

yea, I agree. I know it is carryover from the RUbio trade idea, but Harris is not the prospect Rubio is.

The positive for a Hinrich trade, if it were to happen, is that we wouldn't have to give up any tangible assets to get him. If the Bulls trade Hinrich, they are doing so to free up money to resign Gordon and stay below the tax. We are one of very few teams that can provide pure cap space this off season. I doubt they would even want one of our 1st rounders, as that entails taking on more salary.

Bjax is not a starting pg
It is likely Hinrich. I am cool with that. let him start for a year or two while he mentors a rookie.

like Lawson. Hinrich/Lawson combo would have me on top of the world. Then you add a Harden or an Evans to that, maybe an Aminu or two, and lets do this.

Sorry, I didn't know it was confined to starting vet PG. If we draft a youngster, I'd rather have Jackson backing up/mentoring than Telfair...

Of course Jackson would be better to mentor than Telfair (*not that Jackson knows anything about being a pg) There is no rookie pg in this draft that could start day one. Including Rubio. But there is potential there if groomed properly. I worry that Foye never developed because he lacked a good coach and vet pg to learn from.
