History lesson and a question

The 2nd rd pick we owe Detroit. Does that need to be our pick, or can it be one of the Miami picks?

I was just looking at who went historically...right now (pending lotto) we have (Det is the pick I think needs to go to detroit)

5th
18th
28th
35th (det)
47th
48th

In 2008 this would get us
Love, McGee, Donte Green, Deandre Jordan (det), Bill Walker, Mark Hairston

In 2007 this would get us
Green, Belinelli, Spiltter, Glen Davis (det), Dominic McGuire, Marc Gasol

That is not a bad group. Let alone if you see who is available.

Yeah.. This draft may not be deep with superstars, but the second round has a bunch of seniors that could really fill out a bench and maybe be a diamond in the rough. Pendergraph, Brockman, Heytvelt, A.J. Price, Dominic James, Pargo and Danny Green to name a few.

As to your question, I am not sure if we have to give up our specific 2nd round pick (35) or if we can give them the 47th or 48th pick. Technically we own the pick, so I see no reason why we couldn't do it.

We traded our pick. We can't substitute someone elses unless it was previously agreed upon.

I think they'd require us to take Duncan off their hands, though, so I'm not sure we'd want to do that.

Screw that, who needs Duncan/Parker when you got Shelden Willams and Telfair.

When you're at the top of the food chain, you make your own rules, just like that Nixon movie that just came out with the guy who everybody swears sounds just like Nixon but actually sounds like Sean Connery "when the president does it, it's not illegal!" And it's all shocking except for he sounds like James Bond and not Richard Nixon.
