Given the hands we were dealt, I think this should be considered a successful season (don’t laugh…let me explain). I would rather have Love and Miller than Lopez, Westbrook, or Mayo if we had to keep Jaric and Walker. And as someone pointed out earlier, we could have fallen in the lottery and had to draft Love 5th (and keep Jaric here). Pekovic was an absolute steal even if we did trade Chalmers. We replaced Wittman with McHale who managed to turn the team around, but I still don’t see much of a reason behind acquiring Brown and Williams (are they hoping to extend the team option for a trade purpose?). We have a better record than last season, yet we played without Brewer, Jefferson, and many other players for the season. Which brings me to my last point, draft picks and expiring contracts for next season are sweet (unfortunately the draft will suck).

theoretically this season was a good one taking all circumstances into account but practically it leaves a lot to be desired. watching this team giving no effort for certain periods has been quite annoying.

all in all I'd give a B-

D. Only things keeping it from being an F were January and Kevin Love.

c or so, I need young guys to watch if we're going to be out of it. If we're out of it and watching Kevin Ollie, Jason Collins, and Brian Cardinal, thats just mean. At least get some NBDL guys in here

incomplete would be the best. We lose far to many games due to injury. Which puts question marks on what a player can do.

D. Aside from the month of January this team was riddled with injury and inconsistency. We failed to make any sort of splash at the deadline, Witt got us off to a horrible start, Brewer goes down, Al goes down, Foye goes down, Miller wont shoot, Craigers doesnt fit, Love didnt start getting major minutes till everyone went down, Williams/Brown still dont get much of minutes on an injury plagued team.

I keep saying next year is the important year. That will decide much of who we are and what identity we will have.

I'll give it a D.

We performed well regarding that we had so many injuries but we did not manage to actually make a trade that improves our future in the long term after the Mayo - Love deal.

C-
-January was nice and a glimpse into what the team could/should have been all year.
-Kevin Love was a pleasant surprise.
-The injuries hurt and were no fault of the franchise and, no, I didn't expect them to be a playoff team to begin with.
-Miller's overall team play was nice.

-But no matter what the circumstances, no team with a .300 record deserves a grade above C.
-And, although McHale was a nice replacement for Wittman. Wittless shouldn't have even coached one game this year. They waited too long to replace him.
-Miler's lack of shooting was very frustrating.
-Foye still hasn't answered any consistency questions.
-Craigers doesn't fit and that was obvious to most of us last offseason.

Ironic that we got enough of a taste to have hope, but did poor enough to hopefully add a valuable piece this summer.

Incomplete until we actually have proof that McHale has no influence on front office decisions. If this season resulted in his actual ousting (not in title only) and brings us an outside set of eyes to the FO, then I don't know how I could grade it anything other than an A+.

A+. Great Year. They were almost close to being near the playoff race.

F but still B considering how bad it was!

November\December had a 10+ abysmal games the wolves could\should have won.
Jan was great till Al went down.
Feb\March Abysmal and would have been .500+ if healthy at least (15-15) as opposed to (5-25)

So I'm saying the wolves could have been a 40+ win team if healthy and without Whittman, but at least we get to keep our pick?

D. Taking everything into account, We still lost almost 60 games.

-Love was better than expected, but a front-line combination of him and Jefferson looks limited.
-January was a fluke of scheduling and opposing teams injury bugs
-the rest of the season made january look good.
-Foye looks like a combo-guard bench player, putting a stake in the idea he could be a terror as a big point guard who could score.
-Carney was fun to watch - it's been a long time since the wolves had a wing player who could dunk.
-Miller decided to play a role that Jaric could have filled as well or better

C could have been worse especially because of the injuries.

Because F was being too generous.

Obviously with Big Al we're not a 60 loss team.

We're also no where near a playoff contender.

I gave it a D to a D-. Twittman of course wasted everybodys time with his attempt to coach..It was nice being above .500 for the first time in what seems like 20 years when we started 1-0, then we went on 5 game losing streak.

Also saw a 17 game losing streak in there.

January was cool.

Seeing McCants traded was cool.

Other than that. Nothin. Bout what I expected especially without Jefferson.

Ask yourself, before the season started, what would be the biggest improvements the Wolves could make, 12 months later? We weren't winning a ring this year. I thought most of you would be happy.

1. Kevin McHale out of the front office. An in depth search for a new GM is underway.

2. Wittman out as coach. The team showed a new spark with McHale, but he may leave.

3. OJ Mayo and Beasley have sputtered, and are arguably worse than Kevin Love. We also managed to clear more $7.5 mil more raw cap space for the 2010 free agency, and avoided the temptation to add more in later trades. Mike Miller is not as bad as you guys make him.

4. We retained our lottery pick from LAC. We got to defer the UTA pick, increasing its value.

5. We demonstrated a reason for optimism in January.

[EDIT: 6. We made no free agent mistakes. We signed Telfair, Gomes and Craig Smith to inexpensive short deals, and didn't overpay for free agents. Most teams can't say that.]

Now I understand its no fun to watch a rebuilding team lose, but we ARE a rebuilding team. Our future looks brighter.
