Ramon Sessions for the MLE?

I want to see how the vast majority feel about him here.

As a starter he has averaged 15.1 PPG, 7.5 APG, 4 RPG at age 22 for the Bucks with a PER of 17.6 and a 3:1 A/T ratio in under 34 minutes played on average in his starts. He doesn't have three point range but he also doesn't think he can so he doesn't take many either.

He does attack the rim off the dribble very effectively and consistently which gets his to the line 5.8 times per 36 minutes played and as his 3:1 A/T ratio shows he does this well staying very much under control.

I think he is a clear upgrade over Telfair and he might be better then any PG in the draft including Rubio. If he is this good at age 22 then his ceiling is likely quite a bit higher and really anything beyond 15/7/4 at PG is heading into allstar waters.

I think with Foye the Wolves would have a very good backcourt that would actually be more then the sum of its parts with both guys having excellent A/T ratio's they'd be productive without wasting possessions. If Mike Miller starts at SF over Gomes they would have a very rare combo-nation of perimeter players who all produce without wasting possessions with turnovers.

PG Sessions
SG Foye
SF Miller
PF Love
C Jefferson

That is without having traded a single asset or knowing who they've drafted. They could draft strictly on BPA and not have to worry about need.

We could probably do better for the MLE. He's been inconsistent all season, and we have our fair share of inconsistent guards.

I would consider him if we don't get a decent point guard out of the draft. It will be hard to sign him and I don't think that he is that kind of player that puts your team over the top.

he might be a better fit for a perimeter oriented team, but MLE seems like a good price to me

+1 on kudos for thinking outside the box

I'd like to keep Sessions outside of our box. How's his defense?

If Sessions was the player you think he is than Milwaukee would not let him go.
Why spend the MLE on a player we can get in the draft or via trade for an EXP? The MLE is just a cap killer that should only be used by teams that need one more piece to contend.

can we put casey in a box? and ship him back to portland?

Bucks might have trouble throwing money at him because of their already large payroll. But Sessions is not the kind of guard this team needs, and his performance is underrated.

Sessions is a good player, just not a good fit for our post oriented offense. Hinrich is a much better fit for what this team needs-- shooting, defense, leadership.

agreed. He can also mentor a younger PG we draft.

Also agreed. Hinrich is a savvy vet that can teach a young PG the tricks of the trade. Playing defense without fouling, playing the pick and roll, throw the ol' pigskin around in the yard with him, teach him how to shave, and talk to him about dating. And also why you should never trust gypsies. Get a real job you gypsies, and no fortune teller does not count.

I'm pretty much for getting Hinrich this offseason and will put it in my sig once the season ends. If we don't get him, i'll consider the offseason a failure. He's not the best at setting others up for easy baskets, but he is a floor general.

Hinrich is a nice player and all, but that's sort of ridiculous.

If some combo of Telfair/Foye/Miller/Gomes is starting at the 1/2/3 next season I'd consider the offseason a failure. Unless they had a really good draft and were grooming some up and comers.

I agree about the grooming/rookies/newcomers. I don't care about who's starting on day 1 next year, but there should be a clear VISION that only one of Telfair/Foye/Brewer/Carney/Miller/Gomes can start if this is a playoff team, two upgrades are needed. Certainly if its a guy like Evans or Holiday, or a 3 like Aminu, they're not going to start from Day 1. But drafting them sets a good tone, as would acquiring players via trade like (but not limited to, RC) Hinrich.

Sessions is awesome and would be an absolute rip for the MLE. Hopefully Skiles' constant tinkering with his minutes keeps Milwaukee from realizing what they have in him...... but I have a feeling they'd match a midlevel deal. He's just shown too much for them to let him go, even with their obvious salary problems.

He is an unrestricted free agent, they can only match if he wants to give them the chance to do so.

I personally think its a no brainer even if they draft a PG. He can start right now and be a top 15 PG at worst. I think the biggest thing holding the entire team down is the lack of a quality or even solid starting PG.

They have to make sure Telfair or some 20 year old rookie isn't tasked with running this team next year. Why waste assets trading for Kirk Hinrich when you can get Sessions for reasonable money?

Of the teams expected to be under the salary cap none of them are likely to be looking to sign a young PG like Sessions. They can assure him a starting job and you've got to believe that is his biggest priority right now.

I personally think its a much better idea to use those expendable assets in order to get an actual quality starter at SF. A guy that can get you 18/6/3 and provide some of the athletic ability the team desperately needs.

I also think we should sign him. He is very agile and definitely a player that can help us in the long and in the short run.
He just has to improve his range and he will be a more than decent PG.

There have been plenty of championship PG's who don't shoot the three.

Rondo
Parker

They have four of the titles this decade between them and neither of them are shooters, as long as you have two shooters on the floor together its not an issue. In fact the Wolves lack of slashers is a much bigger issue for the team.

The bigger issue is a lack of guys who get to the line 5-8 times a night which Sessions can do.

I think it'd be great to see Foye play with an actual quality starter at PG who can get him easy shots. It could be enough to get him shooting 45/40/85% next year.

I know alot of people have soured on Foye but playing with Telfair isn't exactly going to bring the best out of anybody. 16.3 ppg, 4.3 apg and 3.1 rpg could be 18.5 ppg, 5 apg and 3.1 rpg with better efficiency next Sessions.

I don't know if people have a firm understanding of just how bad Telfair is around here from some of the recent comments about my idea to get Sessions.
