All rookie team: Kevin Love?

Rose, Mayo, and Lopez are pretty much guaranteed a spot. So where does that leave Love? Just our luck Gordon and Beasley get in and Love doesn't...which won't surprise me considering Jefferson and Love got no respect on All Star Weekend (just one event would have been nice).

I am still shocked Love did not get into the rookie game. Utter failure by voters.
The "all" teams are always debated and often crappy. Lets hope he gets rejected so he pushes himself more this summer.

I'd assume Rose, Mayo, Lopez and Westbrook will be on the first team and that last spot will come down to Love, Gordon, Beasley or maybe Gasol. I actually think it'll either be Love or Gordon.

I don't think he will make the all-rookie team. I even think Westbrook and Marc Gasol might get a spot before Love so he is out for the first team. But I think he has a chance for the second team.

Only Murphy is one of the best 3 point shooters in the game.

That was great.
He will make the 2nd team.

If they didn't pick him for the rook-soph game they won't pick him for the first team.
But do they do the all rookie teams based on position or just the best group?

Well, he did win a Rookie of the Month in April, so that recency has to help.
That made me go back and check. The results were:
March East—Derrick Rose, g, Chicago Bulls West—Kevin Love, f, Minnesota Timberwolves
February East—Brook Lopez, c, New Jersey Nets West—Russell Westbrook, g, Oklahoma City Thunder
January East—Brook Lopez, c, New Jersey Nets West—Eric Gordon, g, Los Angeles Clippers
December East—Derrick Rose, g, Chicago Bulls West—Russell Westbrook, g, Oklahoma City Thunder
November East—Derrick Rose, g, Chicago Bulls West—O.J. Mayo, g, Memphis Grizzlies
3 - Derrick Rose
2 - Russell Westbrook
2 - Brook Lopez
1 - Kevin Love
1 - OJ Mayo
1 - Eric Gordon
Since Lopez is the only guy who isn't a guard, I think Love is in as they try to make it look something like a real team.

Only slightly.
They've always taken five first teamers, but for 2006-07 they took seven second rounders (including Craig Smith) instead of their normal five.
http://www.nba.com/history/awards_allrookieteams.htmlI was surprised KG only made second team. Mike Miller was Rookie of the Year.

And that tells us all we need to know about the importance of this "award".

He was the third highest vote getter. Geez that was a crappy class compared to this year. Even considering Roy, I think that there are half a dozen guys this year who would have been ROY then.

It was interesting. I was checking out the Player Comparison board and saw numerous threads on Beasley and comparisons with him vs. other rookies, young players, and forwards. Not once did I see anything with Beasley vs. Kevin Love, the 2nd highest drafted forward. There is a sizable thread on Beasley vs. Randolph. Is this Love getting no respect (again) or have they distanced themselves so drastically that they are no longer in the same conversation? It gets rather annoying seeng all the chatter about other rookies (Rose, Beasley, & Randolph mainly) and others getting so little praise. Some of this may be market size and fan-base size here, but educated fans should be able to see all of the rookies for what they are worth.
That really grinds my gears.

Kevin Love is the stealth bomber of NBA rookies.
