How many legit starters do we have?

Aside from Jefferson.
The main question for me is whether Miller and Brewer can be starters for us at guard and forward on a contending team.
I think Love should be a starter but he may come off the bench if we upgrade the Center position this offseason.
The thought of a starting core of: Jefferson, Miller, and Brewer does give me hope that we may not be far away.
We have depth with players like: Gomes, Foye, Telfair, and Smith, who I think should be solid backups.

We kind of built our team backwards. Usually you try to find legit starters first, then build your bench, not the other way around. Poor Wolves...

Now what we need to do is find a team with depth concerns that has a guy who would fit well here. Calling George Shinn.......

Kevin Love and Al Jefferson are our only legit starters IMO at the moment. You could probably make a case for Mike Miller but he's probably better as a sixth man.

Two legit starters and they both play PF.

We have two starting PF's and two 6th men who are combo type players(Foye and Miller). And a host of 7th, 8th, and 9th guys.

We have numerous question marks and the need for a legit coach.

I think the lineup of...
al
love
miller (as point forward)
brewer
Foye
would have been fun to watch this year

If they helped on defense and stayed healthy it could have been a fun group. I agree.

And therein lies the dilemma.

hardly a dilemma. Play them together, improve the backcourt and get a decent coach. The problem with this team is not the love/al 4/5 is is the lack of production and defense from the 3-1.
Love and Jefferson only played 663 minutes together this year. Most of that was in the development and the Wittman times.
It might not be the best frontcourt in the west, it might not be the ultimate scenario for either player, but it is hardly even one of our top-3 biggest issues.

If "legit starter" means "Top 30 at their position," then Al Jefferson, Love, and Mike Miller are all legit starters, and Foye has the potential to be. You might find Telfair in the 31-40 range (pretty good back-up) .. maybe Gomes at the tail-end. Its too hard to place Corey Brewer right now.
However, just being a legit starter doesn't mean your team has enough talent. If you have to win the match-up battle at five positions, MIN wins at 1-of-5 .. perhaps 2 with Love next year. We need more players that are in the Top 15 of their positions.

Also, you should judge a team by its 8 or 9. By its rotation, not just the guys starting.

I'm not sure Mike Miller is a top 30 SG or a top 30 SF anymore, but that's not the measuring tape I would use. Top 30 builds a pedestrian team. I'd use the playoffs as a measuring stick, top 16. Al is for sure, Love has the potential to be. Randy and Corey may be good enough to be the 5th best player on a good team. Wolves are three talented guys away from competing, and one of them is most likely a 20 ppg wing.

It's kind of hard to say who on this team could start for a contender. Foye for example wouldn't start for the Nuggets, but would almost certainly start for the Lakers, and the Lakers would be a better team for it.
I think Love is the only one for sure, he's the only guy who could fit into any system and contribute to a championship caliber team. The only reason I don't say Al Jefferson is because the wolves are asking him to be the 1st option, and I don't think a team with him as the 1st option is going to contend for a title. 5th seed in the west, possibly. But not major threats to win it all.

Big Al and Love could start for any team. Miller could start for most. Foye, Brewer, and Gomes could start for some depending on the makeup of the team.
