Warriors send
Andris Biedrins
Marco Bellineli
#7
T'Wolves send
Jefferson
#5
You guys get a true center and we get a power forward we need. Love and Jefferson both will demand starting time bcuz both are pf at heart. Also you could get a solid sg. We'd swap picks because the Warriors would have to take the chance on Thabeet. Why don't you guys take Thabeet? It goes back to Love and Jefferson needing start time. Your team gets a little more rebounding and also a guard that is good from the outside and a good defender and distributor. Love gets to develop into the focus of your offense. If any of you have watched the warriors you'd have seen our thickest guy is our 6'8'' Turiaf and after him there's a 50lb drop to Andris. Jefferson gives us the post presence we need.

Re: GSW/MN trade
ok, now my take.
Ab is a better fit with this team if we decide to go with love at the 4. The problem is that Jefferson has far more value. Before the season Jefferson had more value, but AB really struggled the last 20 games of the year dropping to single digits with pts and rebs.
The original poster suggests Bellinali and the 7th for our 5th. This is suggested as compensation, but it would seem to suggest either that we need to compensate for Ab>Al or he overrates Bellinali.
let us make this trade simple
Al Jefferson
18th
for
AB
A.Randolph
trade checker rejects due to BYC status, but I think this is the trade that would need to happen. Jefferson is a far better player than Biedrins, but Randolph is a project the wolves would really do good with. This trade would give the GSW a star big man who is friends with Monte. This trade then makes the wolves incredibly long and balances out our roster. Hopefully we can spend the draft pick on a backcourt stud.
Just a thought..

Re: GSW/MN trade
The only reason I threw in draft picks is because if GS trades AB were gonna need a center. So if we were to trade picks we would have a better chance at grabbing Thabeet which wouldn't be a concern of yours anyways. I would also be fine with a Ab/Belli for Jefferson straight up and GS could figure out a replacement center some other way.
And i know that Randolph wont get traded. Warriors believe that kid is the future of the league. Its like asking the bulls to trade rose. wont happen

Re: GSW/MN trade
Comparing Randolph to Rose is a little extreme. Randolph has tools and finishes the season nice (not good, but nice) and Rose just set a rookie playoff high.
There is a pretty serious talent gap between AB and Big Al. That would need to be compensated. Belli does not make up that compensation.
If you want to make a AB for Big Al trade you need to compensate the difference. I believe throwing the 18th and Randolph makes that compensation.

This is none of our concern. Our FO is not gonna swap picks because you would lack a Center.
Al Jefferson is far more valuable than AB as an individual player regardless of fits and positions, and the #18 pick in the draft from a few years ago who has yet to show much of anything in this league is not enough compensation to make me pull the trigger even in a straight up deal.
Its not a terrible idea, but Wright/Randolph/pick (not pick swap unless its 18 for 7) would need to be in there

Re: GSW/MN trade
I'd do it if Golden State picks first or second in this years draft but otherwise there is just no way we give up on Al for Biedrins and Belinelli.
Come on. Al the centerpiece in the KG trade you can not think you get him for AB and Belinelli.
Throw in Blake Griffin or Ricky Rubio in this trade (if you have luck in lottery) and I will start thinking about it but there is no way we can do this trade right now...

Love substituted for Al in the original trade makes it interesting. Love+5 for AB+MB+7. Hmmm.

Re: GSW/MN trade
I definetly didnt compare randolph to rose in any sense. All i said was that GS organization views him as the future of the franchise just as the bulls see rose as the future of their franchise. Come on people reading isn't hard. You wouldnt get randolph and AB in nearly any trade in this league from the Warriors just because our FO is like that.

deeney, that is horrible. Love is already out producing AB and they are similar players.
Ivang, then I doubt we find comparable value and there is no trade. No big deal.

Not defensively. AB has several inches on Love. I probably wouldn't do the trade I suggested, but it's not awful.

Re: GSW/MN trade
If AB was playing at the same level as last year (*not this year) then perhaps it is a different story, but I still think when you consider age, contract and rebounding performance we would still need compensation. Love is still a better prospect that AB. He is very good defensively, but his rebounding and scoring was horrible the last 20 games and he seems to have hit his ceiling.

Re: GSW/MN trade
No offense, but this was kind of a waste to bring here. This should have been locked instantly.
Big Al is far better than Beans.
#5 is better than #7
Bellinelllillllilllii doesn't make up the difference in either case.
Not to mention I don't think Jefferson fits in GSW's "system".
But the only thing I'd consider is...
Jefferson + #18
for
Biedrins
Randolph
#7
If not, no big deal.

Re: GSW/MN trade
Not as extreme as asking for the 5th and Jefferson for Beans and the 7th.
Jefferson's a 24 year old near all-star locked into a financially responsible long term deal. He also is one of the best low post scorers in the game. Why should we trade him, and drop in the draft for potential?

Maybe. J2J got a point though.
What about this. Jefferson + #18 for Beanie Mack + Brandan Wright + #7
Trade 5 and 7 to move up and grab Ricky Ricardo or stay put and take Harden/Evans. Miller + Cardinal + Madsen = Giant expiring that could get us a big time player from a team looking to dump money such as a Deng, Butler or like J2J suggested a while back, McGrady.
I'd be hesitant, but its a thought.

Over on the Trade Board, the Warriors have one of the most educated posters of any NBA team. However, I occasionally point out that they are probably the worst of all 30 teams in over-valueing their youth. That's not a small thing, with the way most teams over-value their youth. ivang here is not an exception .. note that this says Randolph is the future of "the league" not the future of "the warriors." For many of you that don't requent the Trade Board, you'll remember how we heard time and again how great Patrick O'Bryant was, despite all the evidence to the contrary, and Ike Diogu was often given major accolades by these posters, trumpeting both as having such tremendous potential they were sure-fire All Stars. We used to hear this level of extremity over Brandan Wright as well, even when he was in the D-League.
That said, ivang may be right about Randolph. Warriors fans are unanimous in how much they like they kid. He is certainly their top young player, but "Future All Star" or "future of the league..." its hard for me to see this in a real front office. It doesn't mean they'd trade him though.
As to this trade, it'd probably be laughed at on the trade board from the rank and file. In an unbiased poll a few months ago, Al Jefferson was viewed as one of the Top 15 players in the league in trade value, and Biedrins didn't make the Top 25. I feel that the Wolves have so much depth, that they don't need to do many trades where they get the worse player. However, once we get the 1st pick and Blake Griffin, I'd entertain trade offers for Al Jefferson, but they better be big. Trading up at the far end of the bell-shaped curve is going to be extreme, particularly when you want another team's #1 guy. I'd say you'd be talking Biedrins + pick + Wright before the Wolves marketing department would really start listening.

Re: GSW/MN trade
I trade the family farm for Brandan Wright and then hold "special practice sessions" where we teach him the plays backwards so he makes a fool out of himself on the court. Then I'd bench him and never play him.
I'd do all this simply so we could cross one name off the list of guys that Jonathan W ranks higher than Corey Brewer.
I'm malicious.
