Which position do you think the twolves will address?

Which position do you think the twolves will address in the draft assuming you don't have the chance to draft Rubio, or Griffen?

BPA or trade. If we are out of position for Griffin or Rubio then we have enough needs to take the BPA. I would prefer a playmaker at either guard spots, but we could use a 7ft defensive player as well.

Hopefully we announce our new Gm position soon so we can set our vision and develop.

Based on where they would likely pick, it would probably be a point(maybe Jennings).

Why do you think it would be Jennings?

We can get a lot of Pg value with the Miami pick, unless we are convinced Jennings is a franchise PG we will not grab him. Undersized Pg's are a serious boom-bust situation.

He asked what the wolves would pick, not what they should pick. I agree with you. Personally I would stay away from Jennings like the plague and take the BPA at ~4-8 and get a point later if we miss Rubio.

Without knowing who would be making the pick, how could we guess who they will pick?

You make a good point. I suppose I was expecting the wolves to follow their pattern of the last few years and take Jennings, the player at a needed position who would likely bust. If they hire one of the respectable outside guys as the GM, who knows?

Last week, Hoiberg mentioned there were a lot of good PG prospects in this year's draft that maye be there at #18.

I've with rev though. BPA or trade. I think that we get the most value we can, and don't handicap ourselves with position right now. In 2010, we take all those pieces and the new ones we have, and put together our superteam.

If not Rubio or Griffin then please let it be Derozan.

Only with our Miami pick (even then I think trading the pick would yield better results)

DeRozan will not be there at the Miami pick. I imagine he's only going to improve his stock drastically during workouts.

My order assuming that they pick no higher then 3rd with Griffin and Rubio gone.

1. Hashem Thabeet - The easiest and most effective way to fix the defense. He is also quite under-valued as a offensive prospect in my opinion and he solidifies the frontcourt rotation completely.

2. Demar DeRozan - The type of athletic freak the Wolves have lacked for quite sometime on the wing. He has allstar upside at the SG/SF and drafting him would obviously end the silly Gomes as a starting SF era.

3. Jrue Holiday - I do think the UCLA system and Darren Collison just held him back this year. I personally think that longterm he can be an allstar tier type of PG who also will be a pretty good defensive player.

4. James Harden - The best basketball player i've listed so far who is also ready to play meaningful minutes. I don't have him higher simply because I think that Foye is a solid longterm answer at SG and that Harden isn't going to be that much better then Foye.

5. Tyreke Evans - He isn't going to play the PG position as a professional basketball player i'm sorry but it's not going to happen. He is a ball dominating SG with a questionable jumper who needs the basketball in order to be effective. I don't like that skillset on this team with so many of the other players on the roster being primarily offensive players.

so you'd pass on Harden for Holiday? And how did Collison hold him back, he had less than 10 FGA a game and shot 51%, not like he was chucking the team out of games. I've never heard that one before.

I think he means held back as in not being able to play his natural position. Kind of like how your boy Evans was held back until he got to play the point.

psh, Holiday held himself back. He was billed as an explosive combo guard w/ a complete game, I can understand being better at PG, but why so many games being totally inept

Because he was asked by his coach to be inept.

I really don't understand the hate for Thabeet on this board.

He is a game changing defensive presence that will allow the Wolves to not just defend the paint but also pressure the ball further out knowing they have a mistake eraser behind them. Actually they'd have two of them because Al Jefferson also blocks his share as well.

I also think he'll end up being a solid and efficient offensive center as a 4th or 5th option. I can see him becoming a 10-14 PPG player off nothing but put backs and easy lay ups/dunks when teams try to leave him to stop penetration.

If he becomes a 14/10 guy with his defensive presence next to Jefferson and Love you're talking about a championship level frontcourt.

I just don't think some of you understand that you can't find these types of centers without either drafting them early or paying them 10+ million a year which it's unlikely that a small market cold weather franchise like the Wolves could get.

You're looking at getting one from age 22 through age 27 for MLE type money on a team that already has a 23/11 allstar level PF tied up to a below market value contact longterm.

How in the world is that a bad thing?

So he isn't the sexy or exciting scorer or flashy point guard, you'll get over it when the Wolves start to win which is more exciting then losing with style any day.

Meh I'd prefer to simply take Mullens later than spend an early pick. Either hope Mullens falls to #18 or make a move to jump some spots to get him.
