Love to represent Wolves at lottery

"MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves still don't have a general manager, but at least they know who will represent them at the NBA draft lottery next week.

Wolves forward Kevin Love wrote on Twitter that he will be in New Jersey for the annual drawing on Tuesday. The team confirmed Love's announcement.

The Timberwolves are still looking for a general manager. In-house candidates include Fred Hoiberg and Jim Stack, while the names of former Pacers executive David Kahn, Portland assistant GM Tom Penn and former Miami assistant GM Randy Pfund have been mentioned as possibilities.

NBA teams often send a member of the front office to Secaucus for the drawing, but it is not uncommon for players to represent teams either. The Wolves have the fifth-best shot at landing the No. 1 pick."

Please please please wear the cheesy outfit from the Mr. Love Glass Cleaner infomercial. The look on Stern's face will be worth it.

That actually would be pretty funny. I'd love to see him try and trade the pick at the lottery.

I want to see the Wolves get him and at least try him at SF. That would be just lovely. Then grab Holiday at #18.

Would it be easier to have Griffin at SF if we had a shot blocking center behind him like Chris Anderson? Make it happen rev, you got connections.

C - Anderson/Love
PF - Jefferson/Gomes
SF - Griffin/Miller
SG - Foye/Brewer
PG - Holiday/Telfair

A good luck bent envelope should do the trick, that's of course if we are content with Curry at #8

No chit. Don't get me wrong, Griffin could play small forward if he absolutely had to, but it would just be foolish to put him there when he would excel at the power forward position. Most of his shots in college were around the rim and you can't have that out of a small forward. Perhaps he could be a shooter in time, and he has the quickness to guard most small forwards but you also take away from his fanastic rebounding capabilities by pulling him away from the basket.

LBJ gets his fair share of rebounds, and we already have three-four phenomenal rebounders in Jefferson, Love, Miller, and Foye. Most of LeBron's points come from attacking the rim, why could Griffin? :-)

Love will do a fist pump when we land the 3 pick and are forced to pick Thabeet. YES!

I just hope that the draft turns out the best it possibly can for the Wolves in terms of helping win a championship.

Why not? What--as far as physical tools--does he lack for a SF prospect? He can face up, he can spin and he has quickness. He would still get plenty of post opps and I think his slashing could fit well with Jefferson and love. The offense pressure would be low and we would be crazy on the boards. Add a shooting defensive pg (Hinrich?) and it could be a decent situation.

Clearly Craig Smith is a point guard. Second coming of Jalen Rose, except for with talent.

can we just trade Craig for Jordan Farmar? Win win, Farmar gets to start, Craig gets to be the beast in the east (from Moscow perspective) and returns home to sunny L.A., I bet he'd love that.
