s/t rumor for Marvin

Post#1 » by revprodeji » Sun May 17, 2009 7:16 pm

There have been rumors of Williams being dangled in a sign-and-trade for cash. Don't be surprised if talented yet unused guard Acie Law, the 11th overall pick in the 2007 draft, is moved, too.

slow time of year, but I thought I should post this anyway. I think we could be a nice s/t target if we want to be.

Miller + filler or Cardinal + filler! make it happen*, new GM.

*unless it's overpaying like 60 million dollars/5 years.

Miller+filler is too much value.

Cardinal+value should be good. Maybe cookie and Utah's pick? The cap amount would put his contract in a similar range as Josh Smith.

I'd be psyched if the wolves didn't overpay. Williams is at least good at everything with some untapped upside.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Good fit too. Great athletic ability would be a huge boast, shooting touch would be nice, and he has so much potential.

If you put Williams stats compared to our team he would be

top-5 EFG (50.2)
top-3 TS%
top-5 ft/fg
top-5 PER
While only shooting roughly 10FG a game.

He would be second in net production
3rd in roland

Young athletic player at a need position that is very eff in what he does. wow I want to get him.

If they want "cash" then they need to trade him to a team under the cap and get TPE + 2nd pick. They'd be better off letting him walk then to take Cardinal's one year deal. Raptors make a lot of sense.

As long as Sally Strothers comes nowhere near the Target Center.

Couldn't Zaza work? He is unrestricted after all.

I wouldn't mind ZaZa either. Obviously the package would be less than it would be for Marvin. I think the thought is that Marvin would bring back the best pieces rather than lose him for nothing.
