MINNEAPOLIS — Two years ago, Randy Foye carried water blessed at Lourdes with him to represent the Minnesota Timberwolves at the NBA’s annual game of chance, the draft lottery. Last year, Fred Hoiberg brought a fan’s lucky bear.

Twenty seasons on, the Wolves never have done better than they deserved in the blind draw that determines the draft’s top three picks.

So that’s why rookie Kevin Love figures this time he’ll take a nail clipper with him into the room where his franchise’s fate once again is decided."

Now is it just me, or does it seem like were helping LAC here? Point is, we need to give Love some help, bring your own lucky charms. Like I said before, I won't watch it (I will look at the results a few seconds after it is revealed), which is my guarantee we will have a top 3 pick in the draft.

Kudos to Kevin Love for thinking outside of the box. We'll still end up with the 5th or 6th pick anyway though.

He might as well do his nails during the wait, and inevitable disappointment.

I personally thought he should bring a copy of a Beach Boys album. That way he can summon both the help of the music gods and the basketball gods. Nail clipper is a decent idea I guess...and if it works you know that whoever we draft will be there next year holding the same set of clippers lol.

I've always wondered how many athletes take drugs before a game perhaps to give them a rush.
Acid would sure make baseball interesting. "Dude, did you see that curve ball, man that thing had these big eyes and sharp teeth and then it tried to bite me!"

I guess that's fine. I'd prefer he go sporting a Salvador Dali mustache, but we can't have everything.

That's actually not terrible as long as we win the lottery and get Griffin and Love waits until New Years to blow out his knee. We'd have Love and Griffin, then Jefferson and Griffin, then when Griffin blows out his knee the next year we'd have Jefferson and Love again. We could rotate knee operations.

Catholics are the first Christian. The word christian is rather new for someone who follows the faith.

I ask because of the blessed water from Lourdes. Sounds like a Catholic thing.

The title Catholic pre-dates "Christian" by almost 1500 years. Christian can be anyone who follows their interpretation of the Christological message. A Catholic is the original church (One, holy, Catholic, apostolic) That bases its teachings in the historical continuity of apostolic succession.

regardless, Lourdes and holy water are Catholic concepts. Hence why I was curious. I did not mean anything by it, just seems like something i owuld have known.
