Of 30 NBA teams, MEM was dead last in the league in rebounding last year.

If the trade was offered straight up, who would you rather have?

I suggested this yesterday. I would actually trade Love + #18 for Rubio. I think Love has great potential, but so does Rubio and Rubio is just a much better fit with the parts we have in place (and by that I mean Jefferson). I especially push this deal if we actually believe Pekovic is coming in a year.

keep Love, trade Jefferson. Love WILL be the better player in a couple years. Jefferson has the ability to play C which is the only reason why I hesitate, but as a PF, Love is hands down will be the better of the two in short amount of time. He has many more tools and can play better team ball with his passing ability.

So no.. I do not trade Love and #18 for Rubio. Especially since its not cemented that Rubio will in fact come over. How about Craig Smith for Conley and let memphis take the risk on Rubio.

Trading Love=Craiggers starting until big al is back along side Madsen.

Plus, can you really trade a guy who says passion bucket on tv?? If we are going to suck for another year or two he still comes through with some sort of entertainment.

I don't think either team would do Love for Rubio. Something involving Conley, though, could work. How about something like Love + Foye for Conley + Gay?

I have really grown to want Love on this team for the long forseeable future. That said, I make the trade. Need, potential, fit, ability... I think Rubio just has more of everything.

Can we pry both Rubio and Gay from Memphis? Gay hasn't fit too well with Mayo and Memphis desperately needs rebounding help. I think everyone knows by now that I would really want him stashed in Europe if we got him. However, but I bet many overlook is that Marc Gasol is also from Spain and that could be a comfort level thing for both of them. However, I doubt Memphis is OK with at least two players in the Olympics.

Still, I voted no to a Love - Rubio trade straight up just because Love is a proven player, while I see Rubio as being a player with a high ceiling (but not a sure thing).

Oh you would. You have been on the Love Train longer than anyone, so I would have expected nothing less. Can't blame you though, he has been far better than I would have suspected and again, you were right on with Love.

This discussion is pointless.

Clippers will trade Griffin to Memphis and get Rubio and an asset in return.

I'd personally drive Love in a wheelbarrow to Los Angeles for Rubio.

We should really ring the wizards phone.

Offer them something around Mike Miller (and one of our later picks) for #5 + salary match.

Then draft Jennings/Harden/Evans/DeRozan...trading with the wizards is really the only thing I feel that will save us from losing to much on OKC and MEM in our rebuilding process.

actually I'm wrong, everybody else wishes they had drafted Westbrook, Lopez, Mayo, or Gordon instead

I don't see how anyone can thing Rubio is a better fit for are parts than other PGs. Our team does this.

First 1/2 of the season:
Throw ball to al on the block
repeat

With Al out:
Mike Miller drive and dish create havok blablabla
repeat

Rubio will excel in the Mike miller role, but with al we just dump the ball to him and hope our shooters can make shots.

I admit Ive never been onboard fully to the rubio bandwagon. To me he is high risk high reward @ #2.

I just had a stroke of Brilliance! Here is what we do, Taylor sells a 10 percent stake in the franchise to Rubio for 500K tops and in turn he threatens to pull a kobe if hes drafted before that #6 pick.

That sounds like that would be a great workout. You could make your own workout video and put it on an infomercial.

He was on Dan Patrick's radio show prior the the lottery and Dan Patrick asked him to use the words, "Passion Bucket" while on air.

I heard him on the show, and laughed when he said it at the lottery. I didn't hear if DP gave him props or anything for doing so today though. Regardless, it didn't help us move up...

I would do it. But as noted earlier, it would make more sense to Move Jefferson not Love. Love is closer in age with Rubio. Love fits better as a p-n-r player with Rubio. If anything Rubio and Jefferson would not be the best fit.

Jefferson for Gay and rubio. Why not?
