after several candidates spurned the organization, the Minnesota Timberwolves are close to hiring a replacement for Kevin McHale as the team's head of basketball operations. According to a source close to the situation, Minnesota has targeted former Indiana Pacers general manager David Kahn — who is likely to accept the job.

consider me thoroughly unexcited...

Can someone please let me know why everyone is so down on the guy? Like actual legit points? I'm asking because i really know nothing about him.

At this point I was hoping they would just stick with Hoiberg and Stack.

I'm giving him a chance, cause really, the only GM we've known is McHale for the most part, and he's at least seen some success with the Pacers, so I'm in wait and see. I still have hope that just getting some fresh blood in here will be beneficial.

well considering what they are looking for...essentially just a cap guy, it really doesn't matter that much. He will just be a finance guy to make sure we don't over pay and screw our cap situation. Hoiberg, no matter who the hire was, is going to be the talent evaluator.

We got to get the talent in here first before we worry about paying them. Hoibergs role is much more important.

Between the lottery and this, what a crappy couple of days for Twolves fans. Me sad.

In other news, I have little faith left in this Organization.

My synopsis was that we got played by Portland and Penn. They knew we were frantically looking for someone, but patient to listen to the best offers. We panicked when Penn took the job, and didn't want to end up hiring with-in (which was the best choice left)..and took the guy with the smirk on his face...and the D-League resume. I just can't believe this just happened.

I'm convinced no one knows why they don't like him and you all just like talking about throwing up. Puke freaks, all of you. 2 Timberwolves 1 cup in here.

I absolutely LOVE Khan's Mongolian BBQ. It's fat kid heaven!

Penn was the guy I would have liked most, but I don't know if he was really serious about coming here. He could have just used us to get a promotion in POR.

Good post I agree if hoiberg's job is to bring in talent then Kahn doesnt really matter. He just needs to make sure we dont get caught up in any trashy contracts like the ones that ruined us in the first place.

Yup, I'm with PeeDee. I've heard nothing really negative about the guy from you guys other than "I don't like him." So speak up, because it's starting to get sheep-like in here.

I know very little about him myself, I've just been waiting to use that Shatner gif. lol.

Ever tried it with tupperware hiding in your jacket? Its amazing the next day.

There have been various attempts at other Mongolian BBQ restaurants, recently --- I have been to Mongols Mongolian BBQ in Maple Grove, and Gangies Mongolian BBQ in Eagan. Both cater to smaller crowds and emphasize on Anything you want!!! you can do pad thai with ham and cheese if you really want.

I love Mongolian BBQ, so much...that I am a critic of it.

Yes, we are over analyzing this predicament we are in with Khan...but there is soo little history thats positive with this guy. 4 NBDL franchises is quite insurmountable yes, but really...how does that help us?

There was an article out a couple weeks ago about a failed business venture, D-League employees not getting paid, out-standing debts, and the fact that he had little to do with anything in Indiana other than he was in the same room, probably passing out donuts.
