What's his deal? Is he a part of the Timberwolves' future?

I remember coming out of Florida and he was a heralded defensive wingman. Has he lived up to his billing? I think he'd be a great fit with Gordon and Griffin in the 3 spot. He's definitely long enough. Sorry I haven't been able to follow his career, just looking for a cliff notes/cheat sheet,

He got injured about a month or two into the season and is still recovering from injury.

Most people here think he can be our best defensive player, I just hope he becomes an Ariza type player.

In his dreams, he is the next Trenton Hassell. Unfortunately, he can't shoot. Most likely, you won't hear about him again (unless you own the Sports Illustrated Florida Gators championship DVD).

Nah, he's definitely better than Hassell I think. Pretty quick to write off a guy who's played about 90 NBA games in his career and was showing progress in his 2nd year. Definitely could see him in the Ariza role, that'd be cool. Maybe, like Ariza, he's been working on his shooting as he sat out injured.

I'm hoping he stays healthy and has a breakout year, but I think best case scenario is a poor man's Stacy Augmon.

Brewer will be fine. His rehab is going well. He has added some strength and hopefully his confidence is better. I am the biggest Brewer fan and I think he can contribute with energy, defense and improve on his shot and handle.

There were reports at the end of the season about him possibly playing in the last couple games, but they decided not to. His rehab from surgery went extremely well, and he's doing fine. He showed some improvement in the what, 15 games at the beginning of the season?

Unfortunately he'll never be a 20 point scorer in the NBA, so people will see him as a bust. If we get a James Harden or Ty Evans and they can be our go-to perimeter scorer, and Jefferson comes back healthy, Brewer will fit in the middle just fine as our defensive stopper. he could be an Ariza or Bowen without a jump shot, but the amazing defense.

I don't think even the biggest rubes ever expected Corey Brewer to score anywhere near 20ppg when he was drafted.

I think there's a big difference between being the best defensive player on the Wolves and a true Kobe/Lebron/etc.-stopper. I hope he develops into a nice role player, but I think he's just way too limited on offense. J2J, I wouldn't discount the value of Bruce Bowen's jumper. His 3-pt shot is a huge part of his game, and one of the things that made him such a great player.

1. Brewer gets bashed all the time and quite frequently his stats are mentioned, completely ignoring the solid defense he plays, and the things he brings to the team that don't show up in the boxscores.

2. It was a bit of a joke about the Kobe-stopper part. It's humor...

3. I didn't discount Bowen's jumper. I said Brewer has a chance of being Bowen, but without his jumper. Although, really, Brewer's shot has already improved greatly. My point was that Brewer's role would be to defend the opponents best perimeter player, so our other guys can focus on the offensive end, like Harden or Evans, or whoever we draft, and Foye.

I never thought 20 ppg. I thought 12-14 mostly off fast breaks and spot ups. Decent ball handling/playmaking 3-4apg and decent rebounding 5-6. But his energy would be an impact as would his defense.

Pretty much my thinking, but I'd be content with 10-12pts as long as he's shutting down, or at least limiting his man on defense.

Brewer joined the Park County Police during his recovery? Because those guys seem to have come to closest to really stopping Colorado Kobe.

He's had some time off lately, you never know.
