Which player is the perfect NBA pf specimen and who is too small?

They're both too small, but I'd rather have A (Griffin) over B (Beasley) based on intangibles and the way that they both play.

Those measurements are damn near identical. If one's too small, the other is too. But I agree with AQ, I take Griffin.

B) is not Beasley... it looks to be our very own Kevin Love. Those are hella big insoles he has. Thats why he should be listed at 6'9.

Only time will tell. 6'9 is fine for a power forward its. KLove has a larger skill set, but what Griffin does well...he does really well.

Just interesting Griffin is considered this prototype PF physical monster and love is an undersized bust.

You're right. Beasley actually has a better wingspan than I remember (7' 0.25" & 8' 11"), but still not great.

As for the question, I would still rather have Griffin, because he's a much better athlete and is more aggressive.

Well...I guess my post still makes sense since I didn't explicitly name Beasley...and I'm sticking to it. But yeah still basically identical numbers and yeah, I still take Griffin.

Player A either has a longer neck, or a bigger head.

I hate players with big heads. I'd take player B.

The difference is that Griffin is an incredible athlete for his size while Love is not (for an NBA power forward that is). For instance, Griffin can actually run while Love can barely muster up a good lumber.

Love might not be a kg like athlete, but he can run up and down the floor more than fine.

I don't like this comparison because it leaves out athleticism, and that is precisely why Griffin being a little undersized doesn't hurt him as much as it does Love. Not to mention that he is a better ball handler and has a pretty good face up game. If they were equal in terms of athleticism I would see the point but they are not.

I have never seen Love being knocked for being too small for a PF. Where have you seen this rev?

He's too small to play center, yeah, but he's average size for a PF.

It was a common draft thing last year. That love was undersized even for a pf.

Based on Draftexpress' measurement database, the average measurements for a first round Power Forward are:

6' 8.25" w/o shoes

7' 1.6" wingspan

8' 11.4" standing reach

Based on that, they're both slightly undersized for their position.

A little undersized as power forward (not by much though) but also average athleticism or a little worse. I think that's where the concerns came into play. Obviously he's done well so far to overcome those concerns.

I wouldn't say that. There's not another big man in the entire league who got his shot blocked at the rim as often as Love (link).

From watching the games we all know that he struggled with that at the beginning of the year but it was not much of a problem as he progressed.
