From chad ford chat...
http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=26749Harden 37 inch vertical .
Derozan: vertical jump score of 38.5 inches -- tied for second highest in the camp (Chase Budinger has the same 38.5 and Rodrigue Beaubois had a 39 inch vert)
Curry:
He had an impressive 35.5 inch vertical and surprisingly benched the 185 pound bar 10

Beaubois's combine numbers have been insane. He has a freakishly long wingspan as well.

I say we trade our entire team to get #1 and bad contracts to take him.

37" that's higher than me, now granted I was on a trampoline but still...

I think
evans @6 as a combo guard/point forward (who knows what he is really)
beaubois @28 as a low risk high reward pick, he's probably better than bassy as is...
someone @18 (I'd take one of daye\williams\clark, for added athleticism\length)

I'm a big fan of someone at #18 as opposed to no one at #18.

Ford has the rest of the numbers up in an insider article. To me these numbers generally don't mean much but I thin Harden, Curry and Fynn (only 40 in vert) helped themselves. Evans and Derozan had two of the worst agility drill scores at the combine, suprising.

Damion James' #'s are approaching eye-popping

Not much of a surprise that Harden wound up being both bigger and more athletic than everyone thought. Hmm. Also liking the Curry #'s - stronger and a better athlete than people thought.

Not only did James Harden come out as a better athlete than expected, he came out as a chubby bunny at 222 pounds and 10.1% body fat. Once he starts hitting the gym, he's going to wreck people.

I didn't even notice that. Considering he was already faster than every non-PG guard in the draft in the 3/4 spring and posted very solid agility #'s, I think you're on to something. The kid is a tank. If he comes here we need to get him and Love a copy of Jillian Michael's 20 minute shred and we'll be set.

Harden lost like 15 pounds leading up to the combine, so during the season he really was a chubby dude (compared to other D1 guards, not people on this board).
Is this a good thing because he'll be a beast once he gets in "great" shape, or a bad thing because he was somewhat lazy for not getting in shape earlier and may revert back to his bad habits?
Either way he's number 3 on my board: Griffin, Rubio, Harden, Thabeet, Holiday, Curry, Evans, Derozan, Flynn (Holiday and Curry are very close for me). If Harden fell to us and we picked up Hinrich for a deal centering around #18 and Cardinal/Madsen, we'd have a very solid three guard rotation in Hinrich, Harden and Foye (won't happen but it'd be nice).

Is it just me, or do all of the vertical leap measurements seem low compared to last year.
For example, last year there were 6 players with 40 inch verticals or more compared to only 1 this year.
Makes me wonder if this class is just that much less athletic than last year or if the test is just more harsh leading to lower verts.

Holy crap!!! Did Flynn really post those numbers? I thought Evans vert looked weak, sucks to be right.

Good question, and they're definitely lower vert numbers across the board. On the flip side, this year's draftees have massive wingspans compared to last year's class. Weird.
