That's tough...we really need a PG but Henderson and Mullens are available...it would have been perfect to take Holiday then Henderson..I really don't know who I'd take...BPA I guess Henderson.

If we think we have to take a PG do we want Maynor or Teague? It's really tough for me, Teague looks more athletic(see youtube dunks), but Maynor reminds me of Tony Parker.

One of the guys you bolded is a PA teenager, though. That's where I got confused.
Maynor is going to bust. Teague is a Jason Terry type.

Re: Slow Form RealGM Mock Draft (Wolves Pick 2)
This "SLOW FORM DRAFT" has gone so slow, that I'm willing to bet if we were picking at #6 again, today, the choice would be Jrue Holiday and not DeRozan.

bet you're right. but it was less than two weeks ago that you guys went landslide for derozan w/ the rationale that the draft was deep in PGs:

Re: Slow Form RealGM Mock Draft (Wolves Pick 2)
You're totally right on Holiday.
As for Maynor, to say the #18 pick in the draft will bust is overstating a bit, I think. If he can be a solid role player/bench guy, I think that's success.
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft200 ... id=4206291 is a pretty interesting analysis of what to expect at each pick, based on draft history (sorry, it's Insider). Essentially:
#6
Expect Tom Gugliotta
Ceiling Brandon Roy
Floor DeJuan Wagner
#18
Expect James Posey
Ceiling David West
Floor Jason Collins
#28
Expect Lucious Harris
Ceiling Tony Parker
Floor Donte Green
So yeah, we can find a superstar at any of those picks, but it's highly unlikely that we even find a starter.

Re: Slow Form RealGM Mock Draft (Wolves Pick 2)
I just think of all the realistic options we'd have at #18, Maynor would be one of the worst, and we can't just treat it as a throw away pick. Good teams, or lucky teams, use their assets the best they can. Tribute to JW there.

Really? I think a healthy Googs and James Posey would both easily start for the wolves.

Re: Slow Form RealGM Mock Draft (Wolves Pick 2)
Googs absolutely. You should get a starter with #6, I'd say.
I think Posey is a bench guy for a good team. As it happens, I think you're also right, he would start for us. But that's only because we are not a good team...

Re: Slow Form RealGM Mock Draft (Wolves Pick 2)
Agreed on Googs and Posey.
Well Googs might not necessarily easily start over Jefferson and Love, but he'd be a starter on most teams.
As far as this draft and PGs, my opinion has changed greatly on that. There are a lot of PGs, sure, but I think Maynor and Lawson have both dropped. Flynn has jumped up, but he doesn't interest me because of his stature and lack of defense.
Doing this now I'd take Holiday and Henderson fairly easily. Amazing defensive upgrade.

Sigh, even Daye is gone...
I would probably go with Mullens.
PG still needs an upgrade, we can get that at 28 maybe.

Gerald Henderson for me. BPA and also a needed boost in talent for the backcourt
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Too bad we didn't get Holliday...
Anyway we have to go with Henderson, he will be a stud.

Re: Slow Form RealGM Mock Draft (Wolves Pick 2)
The Holiday love has gone way overboard. Is it true he didn't play pg in high school? Is there any evidence that he's capable of running an offense? Other than being a big guard that can play defense what other attributes make him so great?
