Memphis wants Evans?

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=12865Turns out, Memphis really wants fan favorite Evans. I think Hill would be a better fit...but I guess they want to sell tickets. We already have a thread about trading DeRozan to OKC, but we also have the potential to get Rubio (or Thabeet).
My basic trade prosal
Miller #6
Milicic #2
I suspect it feels light on our side though, but I don't want to give up Pekovic

CPF, I do not think they would want Pekovic as much as other teams considering they already have a young euro center.
Ironically the player memphis would want the most is love.
Biggest question would be if Rubio would play here.

I think he would. Fit and winning are his 2 criteria. Fit - check. Winning - well...that would be up to him and Pekovic coming over and delivering. I'd be for a Love for Rubio + filler or even Love + expirings for Rubio + Jaric. If we also kept the 6th pick and brought over Pekovic, we could be one nasty team in a year or 2.

Why trade Love? He's going to develop well and we need a PF, especially, if Jefferson does not recover 100% or has delays. Still, I do like the concept of moving up and drafting Rubio with a sensible trade.
PG is our biggest need and the options are simple ... trade for Hinrich or move up and draft Rubio if he's willing to come to MN. If we leave Telfair as our starting PG we're done. Drafting a combo guard is too risky when we have such a big need.
Holliday, Jennings, Evans, Curry, etc..., are all pretty risky for a team like ours.

they won't, I don't want anyone assuming that I think it's fair either because it's not. I just didn't want to stay up for another 15 minutes.

I should note that I was considering more trade partners, I just haven't given it too much thought yet because I was tired, but in all honesty I don't want to spend to much time expanding this

I'd take Milicic ... he'd be a great replacement for the Center we don't have. Then, get Rubio on top of it? NICE for the Wolves. Now we have a PG to replace the PG we don't have, too!!!
DO IT !!!!!!

WOuld you guys be willing to do this?
Miller, Love, Carney, #18, #28
for
Darko, Jaric, #2
You guys keep the 6th pick as well.

Lets be realistic.
Rubio would "never" play here.

Carney is an expiring...and I doubt Memphis will reacquire Miller and Love.
I would do it. We get Rubio and can still add another high draft pick...while also getting a big body who can play some minutes with Al moving to PF.
Like it because we could potentially get two future starters out of this draft then while Al can play more PF. Jaric's contract runs unfortunately until 2011 but I don't expect us to attract that many free agents which is why I would not hesitate to add Rubio for Jaric's salary added again.
By trading for Rubio we could also allow to gamble with our own first and pick whoever we think has the most potential. Thabeet, DeRozan, Evans none of these guys is a sure pick and either of them could turn out to be a stud or a bust.
Memphis would probably benefit more right away from this trade because they add a good PF (which they are missing in their roster) with Love and Miller is also a solid player and they will drop some more salary for 2010

Love is about equal to #2
So it's Miller, #18, and #28 for Darko and Jaric? Sounds like we get hosed.
If Memphis wants to trade down to #6 to get Evans, they should be adding in value.

That's about where I am too. If we have to give a little more for two perfect fits for each team, that's OK, but this is way too much, particularly with Jaric in it.

That's overvaluing Rubio just a bit. Maybe include Gay and then tweak as needed and we can talk.
