Workout Videos and Reports

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Fri Jun 12, 2009 12:22 am

I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we could post the latest workout videos. The Kings have some good one's up

Kings - Harden - 6/10 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf5ye0Fc ... re=channel

Kings - Evans - 6/9 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaptU2Ez ... re=channel

Kings - Holiday - 5/22 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R703evE0MW0

Harden looked the most impressive by far, then Evans, then Holiday

I was not overwhelmed by any of the 3 (Harden, Evans, or Holiday. If anything Harden looked a little slow, and other two weren't quite as smooth.

It's extremely difficult to any opinion, let alone conclusion whatsoever, watching a video of a player doing catch-n-shoot. No passing makes it insane to analyze a quards ability.

Yea, just remember how good Yi looked in these work outs. Also, the shooting work outs are not much different then what a standard high school program will do.

Is that shareef abdur-rahim in the kings work out vids?

To Funny...Yi did look like a guard so smooth, I thought he would blow-up just from the vids.

Yes. The funny thing is that's the same defense he plays in the NBA.

Holiday did not shoot well in his video.
Harden's shot is the best of the 3, it looks like he has trouble creating space with his dribble.
Evans has the best handle. His shot looks funky because he pulls the ball back so far, but it was falling very consistently. His handle was very good. Looks like he could physically dominate most other PG's on the low block.
Hard to really judge a player without seeing any passing or defense.

Harden looks kinda lazy. But he does seem to have a good second gear.

Oh great. I guess that doesn't mean we won't pick him, though...Mayo wouldn't work out for us, either.

like last year when there were arguably 3-5 other players better than Mayo at 3, I think there's similar evenly available talent at 6 this year. There's no reason to even get involved in Curry's weird little game, he's not that special of a player.

Curry's canceling workouts in the hope that teams will pass on him so he falls to the Knicks. I don't think it's as much to do with Anti-Wolves as it is Pro-Knicks.

I liked Harden's video. He just seems so smooth. He got up higher than Evans. Plus after coaching a left all spring and having him do that same low block push to lane with a spin and left lay-up finish, then seeing Harden do the same thing, I think I fell in love.

But like I've been saying all along, the three I like are Harden, Evans, and Holiday. Just depends on the time of day on how they're ranked.

Clark is intriguing at 18. He's currently projected at 19 to the Hawks on DX, but I like him much, much better fit wise on the Wolves. The Hawks already have Marvin Williams and Josh Smith, I don't know what use they would have for Earl Clark. However, if he could play 3 for us, he would be a terrific fit. We could use a long, athletic guy to play 3 next to Love and Jefferson. He averaged 1.4 blocks in college. If he could average about 1.0 per game in the NBA at the 3, that could at least help protecting the basket.

His physical measurements came out looking pretty good at the combine:
6'10.25" in shoes
7'2.5" wingspan
9'1.5" standing reach
5.2% body fat

Clark can play the 3. The problem is if he has a Timmy Thomas Heart.

Rumor has it Curry might have a promise at 5. No idea who from, but it is predicting a trade.

There is always so much smoke this time of year.
